It's nice that the NCAA has upgraded its selection process

Cool. Didn't ask.

Which team has the higher seed? FSU or Washington?

I'm going with FSU seeing how they decided to forego football for basketball.

Fair, but you're the one who brought a basketball post into the CFB forum.. when I was just asking if anyone had heard from you

Probably not given recent history.

I think I would go along with that.

No matter how good or mediocre they are during the season, when tourney time comes around, they play very
good.

Personally, I think Duke would be in greater danger of not making the E8 than Mich St. Duke struggles from the
arc.

The real problem is there are too many teams in the tournament to begin with.

We wouldn't be bitching about shitty teams with at-large bids if we didn't have to fill ....64....68....72?

What's the number up to now?

Too damn many is the answer.

68 out of 353 D1 teams. That's roughly 20% so it's less than a quarter. Now whether a lot of these teams should even be classified as D1 is another deal altogether, but while they're here, they count.

If the NCAA went with just Conference Champions like originally, they would have a 32 team tournament to decide the National Champion. The NIT would also be insane.

If you really want true March Madness, have the NCAA cap the Per-Conference bids at 4 each. You'll see Conference loyalty and What Does This Mean for Football put to the test and the 14 to 16 team conferences would become a thing of the past quick like.

Once you get past 15 or so teams, everyone has warts. With some, it’s an easy schedule. With others, it’s excessive losses.

They can use whatever criteria they want, but I’m not losing sleep over reshuffling 13th-16th seeds. They might get their upset or two, but they go away soon after regardless of whether they are frommabysmal podunk conferences or also-rans in better ones.
