NSFW: It’s Meltdown time! Week 2 — The Cries of Texas are upon you!
There was way too much optimism in the Texas A&M posts, I hope some of that is beat out of them by the end of October.
I still don't understand the hype surrounding Nebraska coming into this year. They won 4 games last year. FOUR. and they were picked to win the West, and were ranked? Huh?
“We won’t need 7 overtimes.”
not sure why texas and texas A&M were on here, they played good teams.
Tennessee had to be on here.
Nebraska earned it.
What about Miami? 0-2.
where is UCLA meltdown? Shows their fans did not care. UCLA has scored a whopping 28 points in 2019.
Pretty sure Washington should have earned a spot. As much as they post on here about being the saviors of the PAC 12, you know they ranted.
Or else, it is just the writer going for clickbait since PAC 12 fans don't show up to rant.
You need fans to have fan meltdowns. That eliminates UCLA and Miami.
My only regret is that Army didn't pull out the OT win, because even after the win, MgoBoard is off the charts.
It surely sets the bar for games with no winners. (Except for those putting $$ on Army.)
Good point...I totally forgot that bamabear would poll this thread.
I will make amends next week!
I agree. They might have been the highlight games of the week but they were both underdogs.
Nebraska finished 2018 (4-2) and were 2019 pre-season #24 (AP) Unranked (Coaches).
Those two 2018 losses were...
By 5 points @ Ohio St (31-36)
By 3 points @ Iowa (28-31) on a walk off FG.
Michigan also finished 2018 (4-2) and were pre-season #7
Those two 2018 losses were...
By 23 points @ Ohio St (39-62)
By 26 points to Florida (15-41)
Do you see a common game there just 3 weeks apart?
There is a HUGE difference between a #7 ranking and a #24 or U/R.
Come back when you can even support your current Top 10 ranking.
Yeah, except for a season isn't 6 games and Michigan actually went to a bowl game against a top 10 opponent. Our two losses came against two teams who finished in the top 7. Nebraska went 4-2 and yes, lost to OSU in a close game, but also lost to 8 win Iowa and their 4 wins came against 7 win Minn, 7 win MSU, 4 win Illinois and FCS Bethune-Cookman. Nebraska didn't finish strong, they managed to scrape together some wins against bad teams. Thinking they'd win the west was ridiculous. If Illinois had finished like Nebraska, no one's picking them to win the West this year.
Again. Nebraska was barely in the Top 25 where Michigan was ranked Top 10 at #7.
Nebraska has a lot more talent than your Illinois example.
Michigan fails and you fail from an OT struggle against Army (+22) in Ann Arbor.
Colorado would likely also play a close one against Army in Boulder.
You haven't supported your #7 pre-season ranking.
As long as the Wolverines don't choke on it when it matters... we'll be back. I'm waiting for tOSU to show their hand of being overrated.
Michigan shouldn't have been ranked #7 based on what I've seen so far. But Nebraska winning the west was laughable to me.
Hindsight is 20/20
Wisconsin was (8-5) last season and travel to Lincoln this year.
Northwestern only beat Nebraska by 3 points last season (when Nebraska was in it's (0-6) start with brand new coach/offense & defense systems. They were not expected to be as good this season with a new QB. They proved that with an opening loss to Stanford.
Iowa only beat much improved Nebraska by 3 in Iowa City on a walk off FG. They also travel to Lincoln this season.
Nebraska housed Minnesota 53-28.
Purdue was shown to be a one trick pony with Rondale Moore in finishing last season (2-5). They proved that with an opening loss to Nevada.
Nebraska beat Illinois last season 54-35.
Wisconsin was the only team from the West seen as a likely loss. Nebraska's schedule is more favorable than Wisconsin's and they could lose that game and still win the West.
As usual you are narrow minded, can't see past your blue nose, and talk a lot of shit without ever backing it up with stats and numbers.
It's Michigan at #7, Bo Pelini Harbaugh, and you that are the laughers.
I don't remember any of the shit you guise are posting being in the Meltdown thing...
