Denver got rid of Faried and Arthur too to Brooklyn.

I dunno man....Denver might be pretty solid this year.

That Western Conference Playoff Picture is really really crowded.

So- lets of course assume the Warriors and Rockets are in the playoffs.

6 spots for these teams:
Utah
Portland
OKC
LAL
New Orleans
Minnesota
Denver

At least one pretty damn good team is not going to make the playoffs.

Danny Ainge and the Celtics training staff should be in a jail after what they did to IT.

Yeah. I feel terrible for him.

It does put the market in perspective though. If IT can only get 2 million for 1 year, then it is very believable that Cousins didn't get any offers.

Teams don't have much cap space and they don't want to invest in damaged goods.

Gotta add the Spurs to this if they can't find trade partner for Kawhi.

Agree.

I would add SA to that list. Going to be a dog fight like last year.

I am still convinced he will be a Sixer, but we shall see.

Maybe the Spurs let everything cool down the next couple months and can do something to keep him. You never know. I think we all realize the Spurs will not be bullied into making a decision they do not want to make. However, if they really think he is going, they cant let him just walk. Even getting a package like Covington, Saric and the Miami unprotected pick would be just too much talent to pass up on.

with Randle only getting 9M a year. Hood and Smart not even getting offer sheets yet.

the only big contract really from a middling player was LaVine in Chicago and thats probably because the Kings are idiots.

it makes you wonder just how the fuck KCP got 12M.

Shares an agent with Lebron. Simple package deal.

Evans got 12M too, comparable. 1 year deals were easier sells this year given the free agency bonanza expected next year.

I agree.

If he plays well next year and stays injury free, he could get a nice deal next summer....maybe not as big as he was expecting but a lot better than what he has made in his career.

The Lakers bought the LeBron bundle and it came with a KCP 1 year free trial.

So, I get that one...

Lance got double, Rondo got 4 times more..plus a extra mil.

Isiah probably shouldn't have been trolling the Cavs on late night tv during the Finals if he actually wanted to stay in LA.

Yeah.....and KCP took less than last summer and 12 mill isn't that crazy.

He provides defense (much needed) and some scoring.

They almost won 50 last year without Kawhi. If they trade him, they will get pieces back that will make them better. Maybe they get DeRozan from Toronto?

Anybody writing off the Spurs is making a mistake. They could easily have the 2nd or 3rd best record in the West depending on what they get.

They've lost more than they have gained in the offseason, and that's without Kawhi leaving yet. Losing Tony, Kyle and potentially Kawhi. The team that's left has role players, a decent vet in Gay, and Gasol/LA. Gasol is 38, Manu is 40. They do still have their exceptions, so maybe they can bolster that a bit, but who's left?

Everytime someone doubts the Spurs, they surprise. The age-defying days have to end at some point though.

Yes. But once the Kawhi trade is complete they will surely bring in more than they lost.

If they get a star like DeRozan, they could be significantly better than they were last year.

Yikes. You must like DeRozan much more than I do. Scorers that rely on midrange game aren't exactly a hot-ticket item these days.
