Is it a shot though?

I mean it went in the basket. But if he is being honest no way he was trying to make it.

He just chucked it up toward the middle of the floor to keep it in play and maybe avoid a turnover.

Still pretty awesome, but my vote going to a game winner in a clutch moment of a playoff game.

Ray Allen’s tying 3? MJ’s shot over Russell? And many, many more.

1994-95, that's the first year the Kings wore purple uniforms...

LOL @ Ray Allen's tying three. Wouldn't make my top ten.

My favorite shot was from the 80s. Jeff Malone chasing a ball out of bounds. Jumps after it and shoots it while falling out on the baseline. Probably 7 feet behind the basket by the time he releases it. Game winner .

I agree. It was mostly luck and was just a bizarre, funny play. It belongs more in the category of blooper plays than it does in the category of greatest shots of all time. The only reason it isn't a blooper is because the shot somehow went in.

Rodney Rogers scoring 9 points in 9 seconds to com back was pretty good too. Unfortunately, I don't think the Nugs could hold on.

Well, it went into the stat line as a shot. lol

Just one of those crazy things that happen in basketball sometimes.

Years ago, in a rec league I played in, 2 seconds until halftime, the other team had just scored which pissed me off, my teammate throws me the ball I turn and throw the ball like a football from 3/4 court and start walking to the sidelines. Damn ball goes into the hoop. I wasn't actually shooting the ball, I was mad that the other team scored...but I wasn't giving those 3 points back either. lol

Probably not the GOAT, but I remember this shot. Add to that this shot was during a playoff game, down 3, ball was going out of bounds and he shot it off one leg while fading away. Amazing shot.

That is an attempt though.

Sure, your shot was a heave you never expected to make. But you were trying to heave it at the basket at least.

That is early shot clock. No way Rider was trying to shoot that. He was just trying to keep the ball in play and way he could.

Could you ever be wrong?

once again, over ANALizing a situation!

It was a shot! It was an acrobatic trick shot that all try at some point and time on a court. Holy canoli!!!! HES AN PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE TO BOOT!!!

dude, you missed your calling, should have been like an Asstro fizzassit, or somethin like it.

Gotta agree with @tlance it's not a shot.

He was trying to save the ball from going out of bounds and it went in. It's not even an "attempt"

How many times have we seen a player fight for a rebound and it accidentally goes in his own basket? Does that count as a shot too?
