And I don't think Harden ever develops into the player he is today playing alongside Russ and KD.
True, but even if he was 3/4 the player he is now.....they'd still be an excellent team.

That should read other pieces.
Damn autocorrect.
You know as well as I do that team would attract seasoned vets looking for a ring (s) just like the Warriors.....
Imagine for a second Cousins going to OKC to join that trio?

But they wouldn't need players like Cousins.
They would need 3 and D guys and role players who don't need the ball.
I really don't think they would have been as great as you do, because the chemistry doesn't work that well between the big 3.
That was 1 just example, I think they'd get those also. I think players would be begging to play there.
I think it would require a great coach to make it all work of course like I mentioned before. It would require the right offense and all 4 of those guys are excellent passers. And all can score.
I remember htat yearThat set them so far back. That fluke year where they won 48 games in their rebuild and finished as a 9 seed somehow was the worst thing that ever happened to their “rebuild”. No playoffs, had false hope of being a playoff contender, late lotto pick. Complete disaster.
Horrible at drafting.Seriously. They are 13-72 in their last 85 games. THIRTEEN AND SEVENTY TWO!!!!
It's horrid basketball to watch 98.7 percent of the time, and when they have an occasional competitive game they blow it one way or another or just lose at the buzzer. Same old.
THEY HAVE TALENT, but a toxic losing environment has taken over and they truly have no clue how to win games. I don't think this team will ever succeed under Sarver who constantly hires puppets and meddles with basketball operations. Wish he was more like Cuban or Balmer and just hired the best and stayed the fuck out of the way. Paging David Griffin... come back to PHX please.
They are just going to pick the wrong guy.Currently yes there is. The Suns have the best shot to get the #1 pick in the draft, so you have hope.
The Pacers have zero hope of landing a top 4 player in the league. They just win enough to make the playoffs every year. The ceiling is the Eastern Conference Finals. The Floor is the 6th or 7th seed and a first round exit. Been happening for 20 years or more with no end in sight. At least with the Suns, there is hope.
Tim Donaghy screwed us in 07.
Why LeBron James’ 1st Finals Opponent Should’ve Been Totally Different
In fact, I will go so far as to say that Scott Brooks is the culprit at fault for the KD/Russ divorce.
Had he even tried to reign Russ in, it would have worked.
True, but even if he was 3/4 the player he is now.....they'd still be an excellent team.
Meh, the Suns would’ve had homecourt against Utah and Cleveland. It was common assumption that whoever came out of the west would beat Cleveland in the Finals. That still assumes wins over the Jazz and Cleveland, which is one hell of a projection.
Fair to mention 96-98 in this topic, as what's worse than losing a team? Especially when, as fans, you did nothing to warrant them leaving?I know the Browns have been awful but don't penalize them for the '96 to the '98 seasons when the team wasn't there. That's just mean. '99 though. An expansion team starting a rookie QB. That worked out well didn't it?
Agree. The narrative the Browns have "ruined" QBs is absurd.....though it might be true with Couch.Couch was a victim of that team. Had they been more stable, he could've worked out.
at least ya came out of it marginally OK.Being a Warriors fan from 1995 to 2006 was pretty rough.
Probably tongue-in-cheek by you, but I don't believe for a second the NBA fixes the lottery. The new lottery format makes it where the top 3 teams each have a 14 percent shot at the 1st pick. Also, no way in hell the NBA gives us back to back 1st picks. I’m just sick of tanking with zero (or negative) progress each year. Getting old.
Was also common assumption Detroit would beat the Cavs.Meh, the Suns would’ve had homecourt against Utah and Cleveland. It was common assumption that whoever came out of the west would beat Cleveland in the Finals.
