Is Mitch Trubisky a Bust?

The Bears are going to be in a very difficult position if he plays like this all year, in his third year in the NFL. Do they re-sign him to a contract extension or let him walk, and admit they totally bungled a draft in which they could have had Patrick Mahomes or Deshawn Watson? Tough situation.

One game, but he really didn't impress me last year. He improved but I mean that could be his ceiling. He had trouble with reads and pretty much everything in that first game, Packers defense looked stout and flustered him though

Every time I watch him, I come away unimpressed. I'm not gonna comment on his coaching or talent around him, but just solely looking at his play....he's closer to a bust than a franchise QB IMO.

I think it is too early to call him a bust since this is just his 3rd season but it is not looking good. The Packers do not have what I could consider a very good defense but the Bears made them look like one of the best defenses in the NFL. As a whole the Bears offense was/is horrible.

But I don't think his ceiling around top 10-15 type QB. Which is kind of QB no mans land, you can do much worse, but not quite franchise QB

For record, that is what I have Cousins at, so I'm not exactly HA HA Bears thankfully we dont' have QB issue.

They took him with the 2nd overall pick. Based on what we have seen so far he has the potential to be a Ryan Leaf type bust.

He had a good season last year. 67% completion %, 95+ rating.
I give him a little bit of a pass on last night.
I think he'll be a decent QB for several years.
But the "bust" is that he was taken with the 2nd overall pick. He's not living up to that spot yet. So currently he may be a bust.
If he can finish this season with similar numbers that he had last season, the Bears will be fine.

mmmyeaaahhh, i'm sorry to any of the bears fans on here whose feelings are about to be hurt by my response, but, trubisky is average at best. considering where he was drafted and what the bears gave up to have the opportunity to get him, he is severely underwhelming. i don't want to say the dreaded "b" word just yet, but if we don't see marked improvement by the end of his rookie contract, then the "b" word, he is.

That's a major over reaction. He had a good season last year and isn't a headcase like Leaf.

Well, I think he has serviceable QB potential, I just don't see franchise type QB.

Part of me is saying we're overreacting to week 1, but we saw exact same mitch we saw last year. I'm sure he'll have a dynamic game and few bears fans will go WOW, hes' figuring it out, then another clunker....
