Is Max Scherzer finally experiencing his Roy Halladay style drop off?

Dunno if he's another version of Ryan but he sure has been. I expected a dropoff 2 years ago. But he might now just be a real good pitcher.

he has a .395 BABIP allowed. everything else looks fantastic. two rough starts out of five is going to hurt your ERA. he's still one of the best.

Halladay being a first ballot guy kinda sealed it for a number of current pitchers imo.

he's pretty damn close if he isn't already. Career 130 ERA+ is outstanding, he's been very durable thus far (ten seasons of 30+ starts and 170+ innings; crazy to think his durability was a question mark a decade ago), led league in IP twice and he has three Cy Youngs. His postseason resume is also very respectable (3.73 ERA in 82 IP). he has a strong peak (2013-18) and two very solid seasons in 2010 and 2012 as well. and I don't think he's going to be done adding to that resume anytime soon.

i agree it is still early and is a very long year. players go through hot and cold streaks. this must be his cold streak. im sure he will get out of this slump

12.11 K/9 this year. sounds to me like his stuff is still plenty good.

As far as Scherzer is concerned I think in 3 years we will see his decline
