The two Window units I have in Cali fit right into the window no issues and the little sliders to block off the rest of the opening and I put foam into them for a much better insulated fit and seal. They Seal real good and are not mounted with any screws or anything that would damage the window or window frame. They both cool off a house of 1100 Sq Ft in 110+ F temps. They costed $350 each, and my power bill only goes up like $20 dollars. The Neighbor had a full house unit installed and it costs $100+ a month to run that in the hot summer months.

The only bad thing about them is you need or should take them out every winter and reinstall every summer. At the House in Cali they stay in all year long because it's not uncommon to have 90+ temps in the Winter.

Nope, the heat pump was 6 and the furnace was also 6 in 2015 dollars. Do some shopping arount. The reno centers also do furnace and heat pump installs and offer 10 year end to end guarantees. Prices not too high. Worth checking.

Really big house. Both units have to be man size.

Not a fan of salt water, too many denizens of the deep that could eat me.

So yes lakes. Or a proper lap pool.

I'm a swimmer. Basking has no appeal to me.

So a cool shower will suffice.

Lakes are great but nothing wrong swimming the ocean to get away from an octopus.

Not a fan of salt water. Always feel icky getting out of it.

As a swimmer by trade, I always though I'd like scuba diving. But I don't. Took the course. Never went back.

Been down 55' with just a snorkle, mask and fins though.

Good luck. Don't oversize it. The calculations are quite easy. I went from a 160,000 BTU furnace to an 80,000 BTU because it was the correct size and the furnace was far more efficient.

Saturday and Sunday: Get Home, Warm to cool shower, Throw a patty in the Air Fryer and cook it for 13 minutes. Eat some rubbish, Salad, while waiting.

Just hopped out of todays.

Glad I live near the water, Boston 95 me 81 at 71 miles away driving distance.

Still as hot as hell here too. Our AC was working all day and never reached it's set temperature of 72 degrees.
