The only way I see him not transferring is if he can't use that 5th year transfer rule...

not sure, and I'm not sure that it matters. He was given his shot and he blew it.

I think he is gone.

So do I. I think he knows he won't be the starter next year, he would have to really want to be a part of next years team to stay and not start (which would be career suicide so I can't see it happening).

Yes but its nice to have a good back up. Anything can happen. Tommy reese was a good insurance policy if golson went down and now we need Golson to be that insurance policy. I don't think the other kid is ready. Kelly hasn't even talked about him.

From what I hear, the coaches are actually pretty high on Kizer. While I agree you can't expect him to perform at Golson's level, its apparent that Kelly's offense only works if you've got a QB who is willing to sacrifice his body a little to run the read option. For as much escapability as Golson has shown in his career, he is not, nor has he ever been, a run first QB. A LOT of his turnovers came trying to make something out of nothing instead of letting instincts take over and bolt with the ball. I don't think Zaire has that problem. If anything, Zaire has shown he wants the ball even when he should give it up. There was that crucial 4th down play that if he gave it to Folston, he would have picked up the first down, but he pulled it back and fell short because by that time, they were keying on him so much. But if you're going to run those plays, you'd better have a backup who is ready to go, as Ohio St. has shown, your QB's can't take a beating all year.
