Just to put a little perspective into what he's currently doing:

Curry's PER: 33.07
NBA Single Season Record - Wilt Chamberlain(62-63): 31.82

Curry's WS/48: .3540
NBA Single Season Record - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar(71-72): .3399

Curry's Offensive Box Plus/Minus: 13.0
NBA Single Season Record - Michael Jordan(87-88): 9.82

Curry's numbers:

30.3 PPG, 51.3 fg%, 45.6 3-pt%, 91.3 FT%, 5.3 RPG, 6.5 APG, 2.1 STLPG.

As crazy as it sounds, I think he is.

Yes. This league is already owned by Steph, not LeBron anymore.

If he completes a 50/40/90 season with close to his PPG/RPG/APG he has now it is a hell of a case.

He also sits a lot of 4th QTRs.

Is he averaging a triple double for the season? If not then no.

The OPs statement is clearly made by somebody who's never seen more than 5 years of basketball

Obviously these statistics make a case- but i know PER and OFfensive Box plus/minus do not factor in defense....im not sure if win shares does....its hard for me to consider a poor defensive player that they hide a little bit defensively as having the best season in NBA history

if you said the best offensive season in NBA history I think you could make a compelling argument- though having the 3 pt line is a huge advantage over players of yester-year- as are the defensive rules that MAJORLY frown upon hand-checking/contact.

Curry would be put on his butt a LOT more if this was some old school NBA and he went on those shooting streaks- and the guys prob would not even get flagrants...now if hes breathed on its a flagrant.

Curry also on averages 33 minutes a game.

His per 36 minute numbers:

32.2 PPG, 7 APG, 5.7 RPG.

Taking nothing away from Oscar's triple double season he averaged over 44 minutes per game. Also Curry's PER blows Oscar's out of the water for that individual season.

I'm 30 years old, so I've been watching the NBA for about 15 years or so of which I can actually remember. Curry's having the best season during my time of watching basketball.

I'm all ears for you arguing otherwise, I've brought my stats to table, let me see what you got?

Plenty of season to go... but if things finish the same... he'll definitely have a solid case.

I will say that I think WS and Plus/Minus stats are going to heavily favor players on great teams. Those 3 stats might point to the best season by a player on the best team... more than just the best season by a player.
