He officially retired from baseball today. If I had a vote, I would vote him in. Obviously, he was one of the best defensive center fielders of all time, and I think he hit just well enough to get my vote. A .337 OBP and 111 wRC+ might seem unflattering, but he did play in a pitcher's ballpark, and like I said, I think his defense makes up for it. The average JAWS of HOF CF is 57.8, and Jones is just a tick lower at 54.6. His WAR7 is actually higher than average HOF center fielders. It's close, but I hope he gets in.

He might have a case for being the best defensive CF in history (at worst, likely top 3-5). Add that to 400+ HR and a 111 OPS+, and I think he's good enough.

I'm a Braves fan, so obviously I hope he gets in. He hung on several years too long.

Dude could damn near cover the entire outfield by himself.

His glove might get him in, but if he does, he's gonna be on the ballot for at least 10 years IMO.

He is an interesting case, He was amazing defensively... But his offense was not great for the era he played in...

He was top 10 in HRs only 2 times(lead once), never was top 10 in OPS+ or OPS...

His career numbers were below MLB average in BA(was only above average 3 times in his career), below in OBP(but was better than average 8(6 over 500 PA) times... He struck out more than league average too.... So really all he was better than league average in was power, which again, he wasn't elite in...

So the question is does he get the ozzie smith treatment...

Was a good 1 for a long time, don't know about being a Hall of Famer though.
