Iowa State messed up on 9/1...

They were leading the pack since the Spring limiting season tickets at 30,000 with the hope of a half full stadium but with option of quarter full too. They had 3 options from which to decide on 9/1 and went full throttle instead of the cautious route.

I was a supporter of two 3 game plans of 15,000 each and would have even been happy with three 2 game packs of 7,500 per game. But NO!

They had to try to go 25,000 for the first game, and it blew up in their face due to the backlash. Pollard should have gone with the 2 game or 3 game packs, and the fans would have been happy with seeing a few games during the Big Xii Championship Run!

Oh well, Iowa State gonna Iowa State from time to time!

So, I am off to Manhattan, KS to see a football game on 9/12 instead of AFI!

My brother lives in Ames. Way back in March I was always amazed how Story County only had two reported cases of Covid, and he knew one of them. It remained that way until June. Story County had very few cases.

Story COunty is a suburb of Polk County, aka Des Moines.

Once Ames let the athlete students back on campus in June their cases spiked. Then it plateaued, then August hit and Iowa State allowed all the students back on campus, and since Covid Kim Reynolds does not believe the covid is a bad thing, the college kids in Ames and Iowa City did what college kids do, party.

It is not like they are the only colleges with the college kids partying, all of them have the same issue. Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, yada yada yada. Some colleges refuse to post their numbers though. Pretty funny, the liberal schools who always beat up on the right wingers for not being transparent, are not being transparent citing privacy laws.

My guess, a lot of those lawyer daddy's are definitely licking their chops for their opportunity to sue the colleges for the lack of preparation and controls for covid19.

ISU started off very rusty, as expected. Receivers couldn't catch a cold. Purdy wasn't too accurate either. Shaun White finally helped Purdy out a bit late in the 2nd. D was arm tackling early and the Cajuns were running over them. ISU shook the webs off a bit and started moving the ball a bit. D is still letting the Cajuns have their way. LA having to settle for 3 late in the half or would be tied up.

It's a bummer (I am a season ticket holder), but Ames is the #1 hot spot in the country in the #1 hot state in the country for Covid at the moment, so it is a wise decision IMO. I just hope they play the season, as this is probably going to be Iowa State's best team ever.

This is your best team ever? Louisiana should be up by 2 scores now if they had a special teams.
