So what will this movie entail? Will it stay somewhat true to the comics, or will it take the characters and go off in its own direction? Will it be campy, or somewhat serious!

I think the movie will be Mark in HS as he first gets his powers. The second half of the movie will deal with his father. Allen will be skipped (he will be a major character in the sequel). Thragg will be in the post-credit scene, but they will not focus on him until the 3rd movie at the earliest.

I am not sure if they will deal with Robot or the other "teen" heros in this one past quick introductions. I think they can be focused on in the second movie (probably dealing with that inter-dimensional dude). Atom-Eve will/should be a major character. I doubt they deal with any of the college stories until the second movie, if at all.

Now it will be an hour long animated drama on Amazon.

Kinda disappointed. I was looking forward to this done live action.

Stephen Yeun (Glenn from TWD) has been cast as the voice of Mark. I also noticed that JK Simmons is his dad (good casting).

Walton Goggins (Steadman?)
Jason Mantzoukas (Robot? Allan?)

Nice cast. There are other recognizable names attached as well. It doesn’t look like they are cutting corners with this. Maybe it will be good...

I am so looking forward to this. I read the first half of all the books and bought the 3 omnibus books on kindle to read.

This will be a true acting challenge for Mantzoukas. I am interested to see him pull it off.

I think it is staying pretty true to source, so I will give it that. But I just found it lacking. I will stick with it, my expectations are just adjusted at this point.

For example, I thought the fight with Allen didnt have any “umph“ to it. Maybe because I was expecting it? Maybe because I knew the punchline going in? Maybe because I know who Allen is? I remember loving that whole scene from the books, and it was almost word for word from the comics, so it is hard to complain about it.
