Obviously, anything can happen in baseball. I know this.

With that caveat out of the way, I think Game 1 is a must win for this Giants team if they want to win the race to 4. The Giants have yet to start a series out behind.....who knows how they'll react if they do. My gut tells me they'll rebound like always, but I'd rather not have to think about that. They took the first one in SF against Atlanta and they took the first one in Philly. If they can take the first one from Lee, that puts a ton of pressure on their younger pitchers. It also takes the air out of their sails and the demi-God like status of Lee and his invincibility. I think Philly had a little bit of a gut-punch when their no-hitter hurling ace went down in the first game. I think the Giants need to do this to Texas too to win the Series.

That said, they'll probably lose the first one and then win the next 4, lol.

I agree with this. Every game is important but to lose at home game 1 would be huge, and to win game 1 vs their only real shut down pitcher would also be huge. Big game.

I agree with the importance of the first game. It sets a tone. I don't know why but my head says we win in 6 while my heart says we sweep. I think this is the year.

I noticed that too. I checked the history of a few - of the Giants fans, they post mostly on other bay area sports boards - niners, warriors, sharks. I'm afraid that's the way it's going to be there for a while.

As someone in another thread mentioned I'd love for the rest of the baseball world to see this rotation as we have seen it all year. I'd love to see TEX just plain shut down. If we win another one tonight by a 10-9 score I'll still be happy but somewhat disappointed that no one has yet to see what this rotation is capable of.

Totally agree dude, most people don't recognize this Giants team as the best rotation in baseball. I've heard all year from people that the rotations of the Phillies, Braves, Cardinals, Padres, Redsox, A's, Rays, Whitesox, and yes even the Yankees, are all either greater than or equal to that of the Giants.
