Chargers.
No division placement prediction here and I may not talk about them in the predictions because I don't do full division predictions unless necessary.
Cards-Win
Raiders-LOSS
This one is surprising, but if the Raiders beat one division rival in a meaningful game, it's going to be the Chargers. Furthermore, the Raiders QB situation is better than what it was and with their explosive playmakers, this has the makings of a divisional game upset after beating a worse team week 1.
@Bills-Loss
@Seahawks-Win
Seattle is going to have that letdown game somewhere, and after two cross country road games, traveling back home from Maryland should find the Seahawks slightly fatigued. The Chargers also tend to match up well against teams like Seattle. Hampton should be able to neutralize the ground game and he is better than Charbonnet. I expect this game to be a 17-20 kind of game.
Broncos-Loss. Denver simply needs to capitalize on games they couldn't win in 25. Getting Waddle should help them take down the Chargers in LA.
@Chiefs-Loss. KC has this circled, and they're rested.
Going into their bye, the Chargers are 2-4 with a challenging rest of the schedule.
@Rams-Loss.
Texans-Win
I think the Chargers play better here. Houston will be rested, but also they will be rested with a West Coast road game before going to Cleveland. Earlier in the year, the Chargers are fresh enough to win this game.
@Ravens-Win
So the Chargers are going to try to claw their way back to a .500 record. The thing about this matchup is it's not John Harbaugh coaching the Ravens. Minter has no goods on the offense with a new OC. I think Jim wants to beat the Ravens without his brother on the team and I can also sense this being an emotional game for him as well after they fired his brother.
Jets-Win
Jets defensively are going to be better, but the Chargers have not lost at home to the Jets since 2009 playoffs.
Patriots-Win.
Here is another upset, though it shouldn't be when it's played. Patriots will be off a bye week traveling out west and while NE could go back to their ways of owning this team, I don't think that's going to be the case. Its a West Coast primetime game and I think the Chargers match up decently at home against the Patriots to pull this game out. And just like that, the Chargers are 6-5.
@bucs-Win.
The Bucs won in LA in 2024 but I don't believe the Bucs will have much to play for here and the Chargers do.
@Raiders-Win
Chargers get back at the Raiders in Vegas.
Chargers are 8-5, and it then goes downhill.
49ers-Loss. After the Chargers rack up two wins on the road, they come home flat against a team that won't have to travel much. I think this game gets flexed out of TNF. But I see the 49ers being more healthier here and winning on the road.
@Dolphins-LOSS. When I look at the other three games closing out, I can make a wild guess here. Miami is not going 0-17. Usually a bad team wins late that is winless. Miami did this in 2007. The Browns did in 2016 against this team. Chargers also have a weird history with the Dolphins and struggle in Miami. You would think McDaniels gets his revenge, but I believe the Dolphins best shot at getting a win is against the Jets, Bengals, or Chargers, and the Jets have every reason to strike back at them plus the Bengals tore them a new one in 25.
Chiefs-Loss.
One team is playing for the division and not five games behind this time either, while the other is fighting for the playoffs. It's clear who has the edge. Chargers get eliminated here.
@Broncos-Loss.
So, I have the Chargers going 8-9. I wonder what Harbaugh will do if 2014 is any indication.
