The Sixth Street Baseball Association is an NL only 6X6 roto style keeper league that has been going since 1985 with 2 founding members still in the league and 3 other owners that have been in league for at least a decade plus 3 more that have been in the leauge for 7 years. We have owners in the Boston area, Philadelphia, area New York area, Charleston SC, and even Austraila. Currently, we are looking for 1 team one of our owners after 10 years is leaving because he no longer has the time to put into the league. A new owner can pick up that roster or choose to come in with an empty roster. We due an auction draft to fill the 23 man active roster (14 hitters, 9 pitchers). You can keep up to 15 MLB players from year to year with their salaries counting against the 130 dollar draft cap. That cap increases to 175 once the season starts. We also have a 14 round rotation draft to fill the reserve roster. During those 14 round you can select MLB, minor league players , yet to be drafted high school, college or international players. You can protect them year to year if they have never been activated in our league and they still have MLB rookie status according to MLB rules. Our cutdown day is Wednesday March 27th at 10pm trades can be made until then. You must have those trades made and post your keeper list on the board by the 10pm deadline. The draft will be held on Saturday March 30th starting at 11am in the Ocean City area. There will be a conference call for teams that can be on site for the draft. There are usually a few teams unable to be on site. Last year I believe it was 5 teams on the call 7 on site. Final note. You should bring $300 to the table on draft day. The top 5 teams win prize money and the average team in the money spends 400-500 hundred depending on how many trades and free agent pick ups they make. there is no fees for activating and reserving players it is only free agent pick ups trades are 2.50 per team. All the details are in the constitution. Oh one other note, like MLB we do expand rosters on Sept 1st and it costs 12.50 per slot you expand if you choose to expand for the final month. If you're interested shoot me a note here or contact the two founding Members of the league Ralph at [email protected] or Rich at [email protected] We can forward you the league constitution and the available roster. Due to the limitations on post size I can't include them in this post.

Time is running out to get into one of the best leagues in the country. If we don't get a 12th by a day or two before the March 27th cutdown deadline we will roll with 11 teams for 2019. Then in 2020 we wil look to move back up to 12 teams. Now is the time to get in when there is an available roster with prospects than can be protected and not count against the 130 auction draft cap and some cheap MLB level talent as a base to build. Next year any new team will come in with a completely empty roster.

well, it is a very tall order... the team that you are asking for someone to take is pretty bad.... and you are asking for that owner to put in AT LEAST 300 dollars??

and we don't even know you...

why would anyone here take this??

Well, if you're a serious player you would one get that the roster is pre cutdown has some top notch prospects. Second you might notice you have a choice of taking the roster or coming in with no roster. If you are local to the Phillyor NYC area you can be there for the draft. If the league is to expensive for you and or you are only really interested in leagues you can easily jump in and win it in the first year this may not be the league for you. The league as been going since 85 and been very stable. 2 founding members 2 more owners that have been in for at least 15 years another for over a decade 2 more going into their 8th season, another in his 5th, one in their 3rd season, and 2 are heading into their 2nd season, one of which finished 2nd. The other finished 7th. Finally, I get there is a significant group of people that would have not interest in a league of this level of money and commitment. It is a league that only people that plan on playing for more than a year or two should join. I joined in 2001 and I got that the league is about building teams over the long term to compete with both an eye for now and the future. In short if this board is more casual players you're right why would anyone take this. If it is more serious players I would suspect they would be up to the challenge.

Just two days left before cut down day and keeper lists do. If you want to get in a great NL only keeper league get in contact today or tomorrow at the latest. We have just one opening and you can come in with an empty roster or come in with the roster posted above and decide who you want to keep off that roster. Remember only the MLB players count against the cap. You can keep up to 15 of them With minor leaguers they must still have their rookie status and have never been activated in the league. On the above roster all I minor leaguers that are reserved can be protected and won't count against the cap. All players listed as 5 buck salary are protected with the worst 5 dollar pick (rounds 1-3) 4 buck salary with worst 4 dollar pick (5-8) 3 buck minor leaguer worst pick of 3 dollar picks (9-12), and 2 buck salary minor leaguers with the worst 2 dollar pick (12-14). One other note we use rotowire as our league site.

I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to check out this post on our one opening in the SSBA. It looks like we are going with just 11 teams for justthe 3 time in over 20 years and try to get back to 12 in 2020 unless the unlikely happens and someone decides to jump in today.
