The Niners will be able to get the 5 seed simply by winning their last 2 games. Falcons in SF and @ 'Zona. Shouldn't be too hard (knock on wood).

The Saints & Panthers play each other, so one of them should have 5 losses this season (as long as the Rams hold on to their 24-point lead this 4th quarter).

This is good news! If the Niners are the 5 seed they don't have to go to Seattle in the divisional round.

That depends on the result of the other WC game. If the 6 seed wins SF goes to the #2, if the 4 seed wins SF goes to Seattle.

That's true. Forgot to mention that caveat.

I think the 5 & 6 seeds will take care of the 3 & 4 seeds though.

True about who beats who in round 1.
Personally,

IF

Sea/SF meet in the playoffs, I would rather those teams meet in the NFC Championship then in round 2.

That would be an EPIC battle, hopefully in Seattle. (no HFA yet)

Odds are we're going to have to go through Seattle one way or another so I would much rather have a spot locked up going into the Cardinals game so we can rest some of our starters and prepare for the playoffs.

I would much rather play the NFC North winner but neither team from the North or East really scare me so the 5th seed would be great but I'll take the 6th and a week's rest over the 5th seed.

I said the same thing in the other games thread!!!!!

:yahoo:

Oh. Quite the coincidink.

That's like when imac & I were looking for receivers to whom we'd compare Crabby when he was drafted & we both came up with the name TJ Houshmanzadeh.

Sort of.

I'll be rooting for the Saints when the Saints & Cats play each other because I think Carolina has the best shot of going into Seattle & beating those SeaJerks with that D.

if we meet in round 2 they might as well give the winner the super bowl, then we can all go watch hockey

Oh god I remember that. I swear there were like 10 posters that kept saying that comparison over and over. Whoever started it and everyone just ran w/it. I never got that comparison.

Well looking back it seems like it was a pretty good comparison. At least as far as production goes.

It is also possible that the Saints fall to the 6th seed and the Panthers move up to the #2 seed. This will be a game to watch for sure.

No kidding! The current or possible winners of the NFCN or NFCE are striking fear in the hearts of nobody. Still....any giving Sunday.

I'm predicting the Packers win the North this year.
