eh, the North is traditionally pretty competitive ....

the 3 other teams in their divisions, respectfully, are probably a little better in the West but the Ravens are usually solid every year and the Bengals aren't bad (i think they've made the playoffs in 6 of the last 10 season). Obviously the Browns have been a dumpster fire but the divisions aren't that far apart.
The west has had a strong chargers. A shitty raises . Up n down broncos . Up n down chiefs

The only AFC division that really needs to be called out is probably the East, and even then that requires completely ignoring the Patriots' presence; those other 3 teams are amazingly consistent in their mediocrity.

Agreed but to compare them to guys with hof resumes already is
Laughable. Produce first
Compare just Rivers? Or all three of the guys I mentioned. I'm a little confused because I did say that "with the rings" , Rivers is probably a lock. I think Ben is right now.

I wasn’t referring to u. I’m saying to compare the 2017 class to the 2004 class is laughable. They need to win a shit ton of games and super bowls to even get consideration. They r good n fun to watch. Big let’s see

ravens have probably been more consistent than the Broncos the past 10 years but the Chiefs have been a better regular season team than the Bengals and the Raiders have obviously been better than the Browns so I give the edge to the West when comparing the Chargers and Steelers normal regular season division challengers.

Having said that, it's really not that big of a deal because division games are only 6 of the 16 games so it wouldn't make Rivers record that much less. Maybe a half win less per season with a little harder division.

They stink too. The Titans and Colts had enough good years where I generally am more forgiving than maybe I ought to be.

Yeah I'd put them at bottom of AFC and then AFCE if you pull Pats out. The Colts dominated it for years when PM was there, but then got bounced what 8 times as being a #1 or #2 seed. Jets were in 2 AFCG's but overall division sucks

but if the steelers had a hard division like the west..what would their record be

BigBen got to the league in 2004. Here are the # of playoff appearance by the teams in the AFCn since then.

Steelers- 10
Ravens- 7
Bengals- 7
Browns- 0

Now you wanna discredit what BigBen's done because of the division he's in? Okay but you should do the same thing for Tom Brady then because of the AFCe.

Pats- 14
Jets- 4
Dolphins- 2
Bills- 1

It generally isn't the greatest excuse outside of maybe years like this if they lost out on maybe HFA just because they're in the same division as a team located in Missouri. That would suck I'd imagine to potentially lose the division at 13-3, in theory.

Right now:

1. Big Ben
2. Rivers

Somewhere. Eli

If Rivers wins a SB:

1a. Big Ben
1b. Rivers

Somewhere. Eli.

I'm not ready to put Rivers in Ben's class until he wins a SB. At least one. He hasn't even won an AFCC game.

Regular season only, sure. But the playoffs is where you build pedigree.

Ok, so I can't read apparently. IF he wins a SB this year? I still think he's a notch below Ben.

John Elway, Dan Marino, and Jim Kelly was a much better class.
