Does anyone see the Skins selecting a defensive player if these two guys are gone before we pick? What if Cook and Ross are still on the board at #17 with the two Ilb's off the board. How can you make an argument to select a defensive player? There is no dominate NT in this draft. A 3-4 De could be taken and that would be McDowell but he is a boom\bust type player. More of a late first round pick. The available safeties that would be there are Baker and Obi. But most mocks have them late firsts to early 2nd's.

So if the draft falls this way we might not see a defensive player selected in the first round. Thoughts.

Foster, Reddick, or Cunningham would be ideal. If Cook falls, I go for it, but Mixon and Mack can be had in the 2nd and 3rd.

Thing is Walker jr. and McMillian are interesting too and should be there anywhere from round 2 to 4.

I really like Ross' speed, and Pryor is on a one year deal, but Ross would probably be our #4 WR. Not sure we could justify that, but it wouldn't bother me at all.

We were close. If we had brought back Jax and Garçon, I wouldn't have had such a problem drafting for need. However Danny decided to blow it up so now I'm leaning toward bpa again.

Long story short.

Cook
Foster
Reddick
Cunningham
Ross
Trade down

I don't think Cunningham over Ross is justified. Cunningham might not be a first round pick

I think it comes down to - Do we have the confidence in our coaching staff that they can develop a guy like McDowell? If we do, then he's worth taking with the 17th pick.

The argument is we don't really need a reciever and we a rb doesn't make sense as a first rounder. I'm guessing there would be some defensive player worth the pick or you can look to trade down.

I'd also add Ross and Cook might only be the 3rd best prospect at each of their respective positions. Neither of them are can't miss guys.

Generally, I like going BPA in the first round, but if Ross is the BPA, I pass (figuratively), because we can't be using another 1st on a WR - especially after signing a good one in free agency.

I don't consider Ross the third best receiver behind Corey Davis and Mike Williams. I think that's juju smith schuster

I hope they do not go WR. Better be a RB if all the really good defensive players are off the board. But I think that won't happen anyway

The worst thing we could do is blow 17 on a fat boy that looks the part but can't play. Gotta be careful with this one.

If that happens the writing is on the wall. How tense will those 15 minutes be for us? Lol

Look on the bright side. We can take Kirk's 24 and go sign five more JAG's.

IM thinking if we draft a QB, Kirk plays on the tag this year and the rookie sits.

Yeah, but at 17, it means Kirk is gone one way of the other.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. At this point the Skins are becoming the Caps. Expect the worst and hope for the best.

IM thinking thats the plan
I dunno. With our front office, the only question if they try something like that is how badly will they mess it up?
