Barry Sanders may be the greatest, but he never beat Oklahoma or Nebraska, ever. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Wasn't because of Barry in 1988...75 carries 404 yards and 6 td's combined. Unfortunately Nebraska and Oklahoma's top backs ran for 256 and 213 respectively...by Ken Clark and Mike Gaddis. Stout Poke defense...

LOL, Smith broke 300 once in 14 games, even if he had done it against Texas, he already had 149 on 27 carries...maybe you meant to say that he would have gotten 450 on 55 carries or something. That might have done it...although losing 64-12 to South Florida with only 55 yards was probably more devastating to his chances than anything he did in a close lose to Texas.

You should be happy your lame RB even shows up on the same list that has Barry Sanders on it. If Barry Sanders had carried 450 times like your stat padding bitch he would have had 3400 yards in 1988.

Wrong.

Anyone who has ever plays sports knows you get tired. And when your 90% of the offense, it’s even harder to gain a yard. Because the defense expects you, every time.

And they still couldn’t stop Kevin Smith.

What Kevin Smith and UCF did that year is nothing short of magical.

LOL, he wasn't even 50% of the offense. If the defense was expecting him every time, it was because they were shitty Conference USA defenses, with marginal players.

Which would also explain why he rushed for 6 yards a carry and 22 touchdowns against Conference USA opponents and 5.15 and 7 against everyone else. Take out sad sack ULL and that drops to 4.7, lol. Imagine a back at a P5 team thinking he could win the Heisman rushing for 4.7 against p5 opponents, lol.

The only magical about that is the fairy dust you are sprinkling on it.

When I think great college backs, I go back a bit farther than most:

Marcus Allen
OJ Simpson
Tony Dorsett

OJ could slash and cut with the best of them....
