Dale Tallon has no plans to trade Vokoun (well, unless he got a great trade offer)

Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon isn’t looking to trade goalie Tomas Vokoun.

Tallon called Vokoun on Monday night and assured him of that.

“He likes me, and he has no interest in shopping me or trading me unless there’s a great deal that would make sense,” Vokoun told the Sun Sentinel.

“Obviously, everybody’s tradable. He said if it was best for the future of the organization, he would have to do it. But from what I understand, he wants me around.”

He can stay where he is. I remember saying I wish he would leave the Preds. Although I don't recall saying anything about bringing in Rinne!

The only reason I'm happy about this is because there's no market for a guy like Vokoun, as good as he is. His age/salary makes it difficult to trade him, and considering he's a top notch goalie; I, like Tallon (apparently) don't see the point in just trading him to trade him.

With that said, I really hope Tallon can put a competitive team around him, if that's the case. Vokoun deserves better, and if he truly wants to win here in South Florida as he always says, he only has 1 year left. Markstrom's taking over after this upcoming year.

I think he'll see plenty of games once the Panthers suck, and they trade Vokoun at the trade deadline. He'll start the year in Rochester, though.
