It has nothing to do with the lucky Hail Mary....

The coaches were actually right.....Tommy is just quite not ready to take over by himself yet. I feel comfortable with Tommy in there, but I feel like there is more of a chance that we will take care of the ball with Kellogg in the game.

Tommy is definitely as young as his age indicates. He is still easing his way into this thing.

I don't......

I don't like the whole easing in..

Give him the keys..... give him the confidence..

If ye have 3 qbs.... ye don't have one....

Id personally like it if Taylor never started another game

i think you might be forgetting that Kellogg threw a pick too on his first drive. I don't think it's so much the QB as it is the protection. I noticed that TA was constantly throwing the ball before the receivers were ready...and it wasn't poor decision making. he just didn't have time to get the ball out. imo Kellogg would have probably thrown more picks had he been in the game longer. TA just had more opportunities. we need to either figure out how to protect him longer, or run shorter patterns so he can get the ball out quick.

Tommy be chucking up too many prayers right now.....

If ye don't put Kellogg in he might end up throwing 5 INTs instead of 3. That would ruin his confidence even more

Guys no matter which way we try to spin it we're still talking about a redshirt Freshman....

When they showed him on the sideline after making mistakes you could see he was handling it just like a 19 year old would.

i understand that...i'm just not so sure RK3 is any better. both are not the "perfect QB" and both will make mistakes. it's not like Kellogg has that much more game experience than TA anyways.

I would stick with TA and RKIII just like we've been doing. The only thing I would do differently is find something that works and stick with it until Michigan adjusts instead of the dimwit plays Beck has been calling. Our QBs are a lot less of a problem than the guy calling the actual plays.

It ain't the qb it's the coaching playing calling and reps in practice

I wouldn't mind either one but call the right plays for him. Tommie shows he's better runner than Kellogg so call play action and short passing that can get him going

Kellogg isn't much of runner so don't call zone read or running plays for him.

At this point pick a qb. If Kellogg I'm ok with that if Tommy I'm of with that. only qb I don't wanna see is tmart dude is done to maybe bowl season . Because if he can't run he's useless

they are gonna have to rally the troops around the qb and mike position

Yeah...The trench players are not good at playing on their heels on either side of the ball.

If you can't do that in pass pro you'll get run the fuck over.
If you play on your heels defensively in anything other than a prevent, you'll get run the fuck over.

Nebraska run blocks pretty well (downhill), but unless they can rectify the two things above they won't get to the next level.

Nebraska's just not good up front.

Yeah because if we had lost that what everyone would have remembered and talked about .

I mean we complained when Taylor showed no emotion when he fucked up now we gonna say something when a qb does?

I'll say this TA needs to pass out of roll outs and play action. Plays the cut the field in half and allow for easy reads. He doesn't do well sitting back in the pocket and he really is not all that accurate of a thrower. Right now TA and TM are the same type of throwers. Beck should only be calling about 25 pass plays a game for either one. Nebraska's oline still struggles in pass pro. RKIII is the best throwing QB on this team that's will see the field this year.

What will be interesting is next year with TA and JS QB battle. From what I've seen of JS I believe he's a better thrower then TA. We will see what takes place. But at this time I don't have issue with Beck using both QB's what I have a problem with his play calling. It absolutely sucks and with an experienced offense IMO it's a bigger issue then the young defensive front seven. IMO Beck tries to get way to cute with his offense it's one of the biggest issues I have with spread offense. They want to be in the best play on every down. It will not happen. Sometimes the offense just needs to call a play and run it. Becks needs to get his talented tailbacks in the game way more AA, IC, and TN. At times he thinks he needs to get the WR's into the game first then the running game when it should be the other way around. A successful run game demoralizes defense's something TO knew and understood. Beck needs to figure that out.

I wonder what Brasky thinks of Kellogg, now?

AHFox, I agree on your assessment of Tommy Armstrong.

Roll him out. Without Spencer Long and now the injuries piling up on the O Line, he will be running anyway. Michigan State is going to have a field day on pocket passers.

Options. Let him see the field, either pitch the ball or take off up the field or throw it(which is scary).

RK3 knows the offense better than Tshit and TA put together with room to spare, not sure how much defensive reading he can do, he seemed to make some pre snap reads from what I saw

Yes. Nebraska plays a lot better running downhill rather than on their heels.

If Beck is calling the shots, he's not giving the running game a chance to fail. It seems he thinks we're playing from behind two or 3 scores all the time when we're down at or less than one.
He even does it when NU has a marginal lead (UCLA).

It's like a constant panic mode. If there's methodology, it slips me and anyone who says NU has no identity on offense. They said the same under Wats.

The common denominator is Bo.

He'll take a beating against MSU. Question is, can handle it like Frazier, Frost, Crouch?
