My team was overrated. Nothing more than that; I'm still shocked that we're 9-2 at this point in the season. Coming off a 6-7 season with a brand new offense, I thought we would be lucky to win 9 games (including a bowl game). However, we still have a chance to win our conference and go 2-0 against teams in the SEC that actually have a pulse.

wasn't that you guys were overrated. it was just most the teams you beat early in the season that were considered good were overrated.

No, we were overrated. Our flaws were bound to be exploited when enough film came out; with the defense being average (and that's being kind), we're not an elite team. Just a very good one.

How did you guys hold the Hokies to 3 points. That is what worries me the most. It may simply be a very good matchup for your D. We did a decent job of containing your offense. 23 points (6 of which was a short field late touchdown) is damn good against Clemson. I am concerned. UVA first, but that rematch worries me.

That being said with the youth on Clemson and Virginia Tech, the future looks brighter in the ACC.

I am baffled by that as well; we were on the road in one of the toughest environments in CFB too. Should be a fun rematch after we destroy our little brothers this weekend!

It's funny, out of the 11 games we've played thus far, we've scored 30+ in all but 3. I expected us to be very pedestrian against VT, but against GT and NC State... that's just pathetic.

I hope you're right, but this has a very Bowdenesque feel to it.

:L I know... unfortunately we won't know for another week or so if Dabo and Co have gotten over the hump. At least we didn't quit in the Maryland, Auburn, Wake, Troy, or Wofford games; it was bound to catch up with us sooner or later but to a team like NC State... :L

One of the biggest reasons I can think of was Clemson had been battle tested and we had not. Second biggest reason was our execution on 3rd down and when presented scoring opportunities. We seemed like we could move the ball fairly well, but on 3rd and medium/long, the offense couldn't get it done. A lot of that was Clemson's D, so I give them credit, but I also think some of it was just on us.

I think if we make it passed UVA for a rematch, it will be a lot closer of a game. Logan has made the turn and has gotten better each week. I also will never count out Foster and scheming for a team the second time around. Just hope that both teams are healthy going into that game so we can get a good game out of it and see where the two teams are at the end of the season compared to the beginning. Clemson was on such a roll in the first half of the season and as mentioned, maybe after enough game tape has been put together on them, defenses are playing better against them.
