I really don't see how things are going to work out with the expansion of the CFP.
Consider the SEC this year and imagine that the playoff has already expanded. Georgia and Alabama are expected to be 12-0 when they meet in the CCG. One has to lose (now 12-1) and one has to win (now 13-0). Presumably both would make the 12 team field. The 12-1 team would be a non-champ and therefore must play a play-in game. Suppose they win (now 13-1) and go on to the 8 team playoff (three rounds). That's a total of 17 games! A 12 games regular season, 1 CCG, and 4 CFP games! You can't cut back the regular season to say 10 games because the teams that don't make the playoffs already are losing out on post season money and then to lose 2 of their 12 games in the regular season would mean losing 16.67% of their revenues (FB funds most other sports). But 17 games, really?
