When you scale bait down to load up on eaters...
What lake is this? And what's the limit? size and creel?
lake Thurmond, no minimum size 10 fish per person, there is a limit of two over 22" and 1 over 24" I believe not sure on that big fish size as I am going from memory. they learned a high % of stripers hybrids die after being released so they allow no min size and smaller creel limits
when I troll doll flys in the wake I usually carry four or five licensed people in boat for higher creel. and I prefer to eat the smaller fish. we wore the big fish out on flukes but that is just for the fun of the fight
and the kids love the fast action of multiple hook ups fast we would limit out twice a day morning and night in about an hour
3 largemouth and a sunfish today. None picture worthy but with the flooding that lake has had, I’ll take it
Where's the "I didn't catch anything when I went" thread?
Got my boat out for the first time this past weekend....caught 0 fish in about 2 hours of trying. Not even a bite.
It happens. Otherwise it would be called catching not fishing.
too damn hot to fish
just got almost fully set up for night fishing, got to rig rod holders in a bass boat
new electronics and wired leds installed and new drop lights
think something like this front and back
no one needed to know this…
Woohoo finally have fish pictures to post here. Went on a fishing trip this past weekend:
(These are pan fish, mostly rock bass, for reference - we through all the keeper fish above back)
I went up to Yellow Creek on Sunday evening. Weather man said 10mph winds NW. We had 20mph winds SE. I caught some wind burn and went home. Not a great start to the season.
building underwater lights
That is really cool...
they on here again, heading up tomorrow maybe tonight.....
Tried to go charter fishing last Tuesday... Got out past the breakers of Yaquina Bay and threw out our crab pots before driving 10 miles south along the coast to do some rock fishing. Right when we got to the first fishing spot we heard a loud clunk under the boat and the boat lost propulsion. They had to call in the Coast Guard to come tow us back.
Our tax dollars at work!
went out yesterday to try out new gps/sonar and mark some brush piles. fooled around live charting and pulled a couple lures while doing it. caught just 5 black bass but one was 5 lb. will be back tomorrow night over the brush with lights
