The Vikings are no joke. I think they just proved that today.

well let's beat the Vikings first.
The Niners, with Alexander, Tartt and Ford back, will be extremely tough on that Viking offense. Add the facts that the 49ers are at home and well-rested and the Vikings are on the road on A short week (Saturday game) coming off a tough road game and the 49ers should win handily. If they don't, so be it but this game should be about 31-20.

They fired their load yesterday. They won't beat the 49ers...……....unless the moment is too big for an inexperienced team. But I don't think guys like Sherman and Staley let that happen. Let's see whether Shanahan turns them loose. Should be interesting.

The Vikings have as much talent as the 49ers. If the Vikings play their best, they can beat the 49ers

Given the OP's track record, I'd say the Vikes chances increased a lot.

i will have to agree the Vikes have a lot of individual talent, but not as much talent as the current 49ers. The difference starts at QB where JG has played very well of late. New Orleans didn't play their usual game and lost. IF the 49ers don't execute their game, they can surely lose too.

It depends on how the 49ers execute, not "if the Vikings play their best". The 49ers obviously have advantages so no excuses. Even if there's a bad call or no call at the end, the game isn't decided by one play.

With them back I expect the defense to be better than it has been, just as I didn't expect them to be as good without them.

Our defense needs to force the pass in order to take advantage of Dee Ford. If their run game is successful, they'll just lean on it all game. Not expecting us to stop Cook totally, but enough so they don't run it 30 times.

Kwon Alexander may or may not play well, he's been out for a while plus can't assume he's near 100%? To me we should start the same LB corps and then give Kwon some series in the game.

I can't believe that the Saints lost. The Viking pass rush was killer and for once in his life, Cousins was very good when it mattered most.

Unlike a game against a team like Seattle, I am optimistic about the Niners chances against Minny:
1. We're well rested, having the bye. The Vikings just played an extra long game in New Orleans (overtime) and now will have to play a second road game on a short week b/c the game is on Saturday.

2. We should be getting back guys like Tartt, Ford, and maybe Alexander, while they were so banged up in the secondary, they had to play a lot of 3 safety sets b/c they lacked enough healthy CBs.

3. SO many things went right for the Vikings in the Saints game. Cousins didn't have a turnover, while Brees threw a pick and lost a fumble. Vikings defense played the best they had all year. Cousins came up big when he absolutely had to.

I do not think all of that will happen again this week. As long as Grop can avoid turnovers, we have a very good shot at winning this game. Even Vegas favors us by anywhere from 7 to 5.5 points.

Man, do I know this team and this game of football or what!

Sure in another thread you posted the Vikings would score at will. If you "make a prediction" both ways you can't be wrong. That isn't knowledge that's shooting an apple with an AR15 and acting impressed that the apple exploded when the bullet hit it.
