I blame Little Caesars Pizza for Virginia's loss

When March Madness started, the franchise announced they’d do a pizza giveaway if a number 16 seed beat a number one seed in the NCAA tournament. Well, the University of Maryland-Baltimore County pulled it off Friday, defeating the University of Virginia 74-to-54.

Little Caesars is going to stick by its promise. They’re going to be providing a free, $5-dollar lunch box on Monday, April 2nd, between 11:30am and 1pm local time.

Actually the main reason for the two week delay is to give the stores time to schedule a larger on duty staff...staffing will be a problem for many stores since a lot of the employees are minors who will be in school at the time.

Next....a Monday is chosen becasue Mondays are the lowest volume day of the week for restaurants....doing this promotion Thurs thru Sun would not be feasible because they are too busy to have such a free promotion on already high volume days.

Additionally, ordering more stock will be necessary too. Also, keep in mind that each Little Caesars store makes their own dough daily which must proof/rise on trays for several hours, and they also mix their own sauce.....so in each store, a dough-maker will be scheduled for late Sunday afternoon/evening to make more dough and sauce in preparation for Monday.

Whew! It's gonna be a rough lunch shift for those Little Caesars workers!

There biggest issue will be oven space. You can easily add two or three extra prep time hours,
but you can only cook so many at one time. Now, they'll start early to have those warmers
totally filled by 1130 and an oven filled with pizzas. But if they get overwhelmed they won't
be able to keep up If they plan wrong they also could wind up with 20 pizzas in the warmers
when the offer ends.
