I think they are kinda going for a Stranger Things kinda deal with this show. But they REALLY missed the mark, imho. The demographics just don’t align. And the nostalgic feel is not as immersive as in ST. ST went all in with the mid-80s ambiance. This show just makes hidden references.

They kinda hit you over the head with “remakes” of Breakfast Club and Carrie, but the people who would catch those references would not likely be watching this show. Almost like it is biting rather than paying homage.

I agree with your spoiler... BUT I must say, I was surprised by the conclusion at the school dance... A show that surprises is worth watching just for that... Plus, you can do such a quick binge on this show... takes less than 4 hours to watch the whole season...

8 episodes at 20 mins each. At the end of the day, it is just a long movie. Think Gandhi or Irishman...
