I'm an IDP novice, but LB is way I'd go, and I like Edmunds, plays on team that will face plenty of 2nd half runs

With IDP, just as you'd draft a top offensive rookie, you may want to look at rookie LB and DL drafted in round 1.

Yep this is what you should do. In terms of production I tend to look at LBs & DEs when I go with defensive guys.

The impact fantasy talent of DL drops off dramatically though. (JJ Watt & JPP types are rare.) I wouldn't target DL if they weren't drafted in round 1.

I think Chubb definitely fits the bill as a rookie DL I'd be interested in

won't really see any double coverage from blockers as long as Von Miller is healthy and on the opposite end. Should be set up for success right out of the gate as long as he's healthy.

Not quite the same as Miles Garrett going to the Browns, where OL can focus more on him (he was hurt to start his career as well, which also limited his IDP upside and opportunities early)

DL don’t bring much value in this league point wise. First LBs ( but so many to choose from) Safeties are next, DL are at the bottom.

Top DL are rare. When JJ Watt is healthy tho, he puts up LB numbers. Not a bad thing in IDP. Chubb may be worth a shot. Otherwise, yeah, pursue LB.

We are at 3.8 and I pick at 3.12 if Tremaine Edmunds is still there he’s my pick.

Or should I wait? Only one rookie IDP off the board so far and that’s R. Smith of the Bears. Cobb is available on the WW.

    Assuming only rookies(?)
    R. Smith
    T. Edmunds
    L. Vander Esch
    R. Evans

    What's your next pick ?

In answer to Cobb or LB - I go Cobb. If you don't have to wait too long. ...

Smith is off the board, so thinking maybe Edmunds for my next pick, but considering Cobb off WW.

My WRs ( we start 2WR and 1 flex). Hopkins, Baldwin, Sanders, M. Lee and Doctson. Cobb could be real useful.

One of last years rookie darlings. Stats say he didn't do much. Maybe this year? Thoughts from you with IDP experience.

Edmunds might be the good Clay Matthews. Fantasy wise, I think he might work out. That said, with Beasley available, maybe grabbing Cobb isn't a bad idea. Beasley will move back to DE so sacks should be back up. Who are your DL starters?

Will Cobb stay healthy though? Maybe I'd pick Beasley and Edmunds.

    D. Ward off the boards, think a run on IDP is about to happen.

And B. Chubb is available too? Hmm. Tough not to grab all three IDP (Chubb, Beasley and Edmunds). If you start two DL, nice to have meaningful backups, as LB backups can be found in a pinch more easily. Edmunds probably challenges Kiko for #2 though.
