Good luck with that, I spent years coaching fast-pitch softball, but that was many moons ago.

probably...i went to a coaches meeting last night and I have 3 goals

1) try to keep them engaged
2) put an object in their goal and try to make sure they shoot towards the right goal
3) they all need to have fun and have equal play time

Ours last year (daughter had just turned 3) They just had like 5 or 6 "practices", where they would have a few different stations set up and all the kids would just rotate through them.(passing, dribbling en sech) No actual games.

I am at home with my kid all day, she has only been to daycare at the gym a few times, so she was all over the place. I couldn't imagine her in an actual game back then. (Now, maybe) She just wanted to run with all that grass in front of her. lol

yea, 3 yo soccer is dumb. last summer my 3yo just did a thing that was more instructional, not sure what we'll do this year. he's saying he wants to do t-ball, was just going to try and find an instructional type thing for that, so he learns how to do the stuff. actual t-ball games are horrible at 4yo as we did that with my now 7yo.

personally, i'd like to be the coach, but my wife doesn't understand the time committment and that I can't drag along the other kids as they are too young to let me coach and watch them. maybe when the youngest is finally playing will i take on a coaching role.

I wanted to keep them out of organized sports until 6. too dang expensive and soccer is dumb but I was overrule.

i haven't found the expense for 6 and under to be that bad. the near $200 i'm paying for my 7yo to play baseball this spring is a little ridiculous.

We pay for our oldest grand daughters swim club fees at Husker Aquatics. I think it is around $700 for the 9 months that she doesn't swim in her regular city (Seward) league.

Make sure everybody gets a trophy at the end of the season....even if the kid sucks ass in reality. Don't want to hurt anybody's feelings.

I coached soccer, baseball, and football with my kids. Lots of fun.

Quite aggravating because many of the parents will treat you as a babysitter. They will dump the kids and then disappear.

My boys did stick with soccer up through 8th grade, but they both dumped football and baseball. They did stick with playing the Cello throughout high school. My youngest is first chair and is going to some all state thingee.

Advice for three year olds.

It is just herd ball. they all get in a huge pack around the ball. Pretty easy.

Just make sure you tell them which way they are kicking and which goal to shoot at.

Our first game of football, I just assumed the kids knew which way to run. I know I did when I was a six year old.

We hand the ball off to Colin, and he promptly runs the wrong direction and gives the opponents a safety. It was pretty funny.

Yeah I was gonna say it's better than daycare, but if you have to be the one IN CHARGE of said daycare, it's defeating the purpose LOL

Still teaches them social skills.

Have you studied Boyd Epley's strength and conditioning concepts?

You may need this if you want to kick those other 3 year olds asses.
