Hunting season is upon us

Been out to the deer lease the last two Saturdays to get a few things ready

My weekends are full until then:

Making a full weekend trip this coming weekend with a few other guys to really get some shit done at the lease

Then I'm going back home to visit the next weekend

Then a wedding

Then it's Labor Day and Dove Season!!!! It'll be here before you know it

Man I couldn't be more excited. All my plots are planted and growing. Got some work to do around the stands etc but I'll get to it soon. Lots of action on my game cams and it's gonna be here before we know it.

1st I have to take a week vaca. in Maine and make sure the beer is still cold up there. Along the way a stop in Portland to watch a Seadogs game and a visit to the Cabelas store. When I'm shitting nothing but lobster i'll know it's time to come home.

Deer season opened here last Friday and I don't think we can shoot ducks until around Thanksgiving. Our first Dove season does open around Labor Day though.

Bow season for deer starts the first week of October, I think (I don't bow hunt, though)... Rifle season starts the first weekend of November

can't remember exactly when duck season starts... we usually hunt that at the end of deer season, though

Dove season starts on Labor Day... thinkin about breaking guy code and taking a girl out hunting the weekend after

Have seen a few white wing doves around this year up here. Very rare to see them if at all. Last time was back in '05 or '06 if I remember correctly.

Bow season opens up here on Saturday for us. Hoping the time in the woods this summer pays off.

No upland birds this year but I'll be hitting the goose fields and duck haunts for sure. Also hoping to bag some speed beef for the winter.
