Not at the moment, not after any particular good play or good game, or bad play or bad game. Just in general, how do you feel about him as a player and as a Lion?

Every week these announcers tell me that all the fans in Detroit love Joique Bell, and he is a local product who is "A real fan favorite."

I just want to know where they are getting their info, because everyone I know thinks he's probably about as good as Reggie Bush, and a better bargain. Most don't think he is more than an acceptable player though, and very few people I know (actually none that I know) care even one bit that he went to Wayne State. I mean yeah its about as much of a story as Jerome Bettis coming back to Detroit to play a Superbowl. Worth pointing out once, but not really interesting beyond that. Every fucking week though he's a fan favorite because of it. Maybe I'm missing something?

In general, do not like.

If he were a backup to Tevin Coleman next year, Id like him just fine.

Wouldn't be mad if they used their 1st to take a top 3 RB in April to pair w him.

You gotta be fuckin kidding me.

You're gonna need to elaborate on that.

Do you mean I must be kidding you because he is obviously a fan favorite (which I would qualify as a top 5 or some favorite player or most popular jersey.

Or do you I mean I must be kidding you because it's obvious that he isn't any more beloved than Tahir Whitehead or somebody like that. Just another player?

Edit never mind

He's been consistently good since the first few games. I'm not sure where we'd be without him, but it wouldn't be 10-4.

I think it's as much that he's a local (Benton Harbor) kid who also went to college locally, and now plays for the local pro team. That's a good story and fans root for that kind of thing. I know I like Joique better knowing that he grew up as a Lions fan; I know that the games mean more to him than most of our players.

From a player standpoint he's a fine #2 RB who is versatile and pairs well with other backs in a committee approach. Not sure I'd want him to be the feature back, which is what we've kind of seen these last few weeks. He's stepped up and had a respectable YPC while trying to establish the run over the last few weeks, but, imo, he's still best served paired with a second RB who is more of a homerun threat.

The only thing he lacks is break away speed...hes all around very solid. I think he would thrive behind a good line.

yep what paulus said i do really like the fact that he is a local product and really cares about the team and the fans cause he is one all the way around. also in terms of his ability he has really good hands not the best but he makes some great 1 handed and other tough grabs really easily and just turns up field so fluidly it is impressive.

he lacks the break away speed and seems to be better getting 15 touches a game when the D gets tired of chasing around a elusive scat back.

so overall everything factored in B+ i really like him has a great name good dance, and he is a fan and a player got to love that. Simply love the fact we get to see him for the next 2 years.
