I remember when they beat Clemson in that 08 season opener, BamaBear wasn't around that evening and since he wasn't around none of them were.

I was at that '08 game in Atlanta. There were only about 35,000 Bama fans in attendance.....

Sure it is. We have one of the top public universities in the country and one of the best Universities (academically) in the entire world. Michigan has been known for quite some time as the heart of US manufacturing and innovation and gave the world the assembly line.

They seemed relatively smart when I first met them person at the Cotton Bowl Classic. All the men were wearing houndstooth fedoras. Texas won, and they were nice and civilized. Seemed relatively smart.

But what the hell would I know, I was like a kid teenager

The year they hired him, there was any number of FCS coaches who had a proven track record who were hungry. Top flight assistants of other teams. Litterally anyone else. Why? Because any of those guys could lose 1,2, 3 games a year and your not paying them big money to do so, so its not a major deal. Yes, you guys thought he was not going to lose that many games per year, but he is averaging 3.6 losses per year. A top flight FCS coach could do that and not cost you 9 million per year. To me, thats not smart money because he is litterally one of the highest paid coaches, while returning you a 71% win rate.

If we compared smart moves, Bama's big money for Saban has shown to be a smart money move. Michigans investment in Harbaugh, not so much, so far.
