I was thinking of characters that originated as cartoons, not those that originated elsewhere & were adapted into cartoons.

Isn't this splitting hairs a little? They were drawings, there were just fewer of them and they didn't move as smoothly

My mistake on Polly Peabody, I was definitely thinking of Underdogs girlfriend, Sweet Polly Purebred.

UnderDog's girlfriend was Polly Pureheart, who has already been named.

Mr. Magoo
George, Jane and Judy Jetson

I'll give you credit for Mr. Magoo since that was the title of the cartoon, even though the character's given name was Quincy Magoo.

Credit, also, for Jane & Judy Jetson; but not for George.

Phonetically, George Jetson works. Close enough!

Olive Oyl

I'll give you partial credit for this one since most people are unaware that the characters that populated the "Popeye" cartoon series actually originated in an almost-forgotten comic strip by Elsie Crisler Seagar called "Thimble Theater."

Cobra Commander

This one is in a rather fuzzy area. G.I. Joe was a line of toys created by Mattel, but certain characters were created for the cartoon series and the comic books that may not have been a part of the original Mattel lineup. I know that the Cobra characters first appeared in the toy line, but I don't know if Cobra Commander originated with the toys, the comic books or the cartoons.

Maybe Larry Hama know the answer.

Except this is not for characters that sound like they start with the same letter, it is for those that actually do.

You are wrong again. You should look up the definition of alliteration.
