How has the ice fishin' been, Ye Mighty Huskers?

Up here it's been pretty damn shitty this year.

Got all excited to have all of this ice, and can't get a damn thing. Finally tonight we limited out on crappie..........

Limiting out on crappie feels like winning the gold medal at the Olympics. It is the best thing to ever happen to anyone. But thee crappie have been so cot damn weird this year.

Our Bluegill pond was taken over by little babies due to last Winter's shitty weather........the cocksucker got overpopulated and now we can't catch the monsters anymore

It wasn't until we switched over to strictly minnow heads that we finally started catching the shit out of the crappie.......

They didn't like the full live minnow for whatever reason. Pinch off the head and hook through the lips.........and all of a sudden the crappie starting lighting up the Vexlar. They must like the scent of the spinal fluid

I packed my gear away when this winter storm system was announced. I may make a trip to the land of 10k lakes, but the season in Nebraska is done. This was my best season in the last 10 years. Lots of nice fish, got out maybe 20 times and to top it all off, the misses finally went out on the ice with me.
Being new to the O'Neill area, I was lucky to locate a couple of private ponds that produced all season. Last weekend we brought home enough for a meal every day.
Now, I get to shop all off season for new gear, for me and the wife.
