Right now the AL East has the potential to have 4 great third basemen.
1 Machado right now looks to be the best of the bunch
2 Longo While still great seems to have taken a step back the past two years
3 Middlebrooks potential but has not put it together yet
4 Lawrie This kid might have the most upside of them all, but is also the dumbest of the bunch
5 ARod who would have thought that ARod could have fallen this far.
Killing themselves again not getting runs in from 3rd.
No offense. But I really hope the yankees are on the hook for the 4 years and 90M left of that contract and don't get the chance to void it. Lawrie doesn't have the most upside but he has more than Middlebrooks. I would rank it:
1. Machado (21 years old and should be a gold glover this year)
2. Longoria (Little bit of a down year but still 30 hr and only 27)
3. Lawrie (23, could be an all-star when he hits his prime and figures out how to be consistent.)
4. Middlebrooks (Just turned 25, should have 30 hr power but he has the worst glove of these 4)
5. A-Roid (I'm so happy he's on the yankees)
I'm really starting to hate Wieters. I went from "We need to sign him to an extension" to I hope he we don't pay him. He should be getting better but his average has dropped to .230 this year, his rbi's are mostly because he has been in the 5 or 6 spot all year (.232 avg w/ runners in scoring pos.), he's gone from leading the league in Defensive runs saved in 2011(+17) to the worst catcher in the league in that category (-14). We need to draft a catcher again.
*sigh Why do I torture myself by watching these guys. On a day that the yankees, and rangers lost and we have a lead going into the 7th....we lose again. If the game is close, you can just expect us to lose. Worst record in the league in 1 run games.
And Wieters doesn't come through again...
