For the Jets.

1a- CB Dee Milliner gave up a TD and was beat at times, he looked like a rookie CB. Tough position to transition to, he is talented and physical enough, has to turn his head more.

1b- DT Sheldon Richardson, looked pretty studly. He looks like hes going to be a great player, hes a force on the line already. Hes really athletic and is nasty, also brings a lot of energy.

2- QB Geno Smith, looked pretty solid in his first start. Completed 63% of his passes for 256 yards, 1 TD 1 INT, seemed poised even after taking hits and being down early. Was able to pick up first downs with his legs, ran for 47 yards. Had no run game to support him and he still found a way to win.

7- FB Tommy Bohannon, had a catch for 21 yards and does a solid job at FB.

Those were the ones that started.

For the Steelers

1 - Juuuuuuuurvis Jones - Worked in rotation behind ROLB Jason Worilds. Had an impressive debut regardless of not starting. He had a few eye popping hits, one in the backfield on Chris Johnson.

2 - Le'Veon Bell - Still out with a mild foot sprain. Which was classified as a Lisfranc injury today. Could be out 3-4 more weeks.

3 - Markus Wheaton - Saw limited action, and was not targeted. Jury is still out on him.

4a - Shmarko Thomas - Good solid special teams contributor. Has a great knack for finding the ball carrier through traffic. Should translate well when given a starting opportunity.

4b - Landry Jones - Kept the benches warm for his teammates.

6b - Vince Williams - Didn't see the field, even after Larry Foote when down to injury. Special teamer Kion Wilson got the nod. Might see Williams start on Monday night if he earns it in practice this week.

Saints

The two Kennys looked pretty good. Stills had 2 long receptions and Vaccaro assisted on the game winning play. John Jenkins had a few tackles

I didn't get to see much of the Packers game.

QB EJ Manuel- looked promising had a few good throws for TDs the one to Stevie he showed great touch. He slowed down as the game went on. He needs to do better in the 4th to move the chains and seal the victory but overall a good start.

WR Robert Woods- Only had one catch but it was for a TD.

Kiko Alonso- Played the whole game had 9 tackles and a FF so pretty good debut.

Goodwin- was injured in the game.

The rest didnt play much or just on ST>

Thomkins was nervous as a good stallion wood. I fear the Jets this Thursday, the Pats are nursing injuries and letting the rookies play while the vets sit back and look?

Tyler Eifert had 5 receptions for 47 yards (5 targets).

Better than under-productive, undependable NFL 2012 tight end dropped passes leader
Jermaine Gresham's 5 rec. for 35 yards (5 targets).

Eric Reed: Solid rookie debut had a pick and 6 tackles nominated for rookie of the week, missed a tackle or two in the open field but should only get better very promising start.

Vance Mcdonald: Made a nice catch across the middle for a first down and looked solid in blocking in which he was primarily used.

Quinton Patton: Played a half dozen or so snaps and was never thrown to. Rather disappointing considering his preseason play.

Not much to talk about

Jarvis Jones had the biggest hit of the day on Chris Johnson...overall about 30 snaps...2 tackles I think, decent day.

Sharko Thomas...nice hit on ST I don't recall him in on DEF.

Bell...we're still waiting.

After starting 6 rookies on offense last year, we are in a position to play mostly veteran players with an exception or two on special teams. I feel like we have some guys that have better physical potential than some of the starters, but whether or not they are able to incorporate this into our overall schemes remains to be seen.
