HOLY SHIT!!!!! Players chosen after ****** include Sylvain Turgeon (2), Pat LaFontaine (3), Steve Yzerman (4), Tom Barrasso (5), John MacLean (6), Russ Courtnall (7), Andrew McBain (8), Cam Neely (9);

NHL Draft Flops & Busts: Biggest Draft Day Busts in NHL History

Yeah he has to be the biggest #1 bust. Even Sylvain Turgeon at #2 ahead of a few of those guys is questionnable but hindsight is obviously 20/20.

And of course Alaxandre Daigle and Patrick Stefan require honorable mentions.

Wrong alex.
#2 – Alexander Daigle – 1st overall pick by the Ottawa Senators in 1993

and had the douchiness to say "I'm happy because no one remembers who gets picked #2"

Chris Pronger was picked #2. You might of heard of him. he's still playing

And Prongs looks terrible in a Nurses' uniform.

Patrick Stefan is by far the worst.

At least Daigle and Lawton showed a hint of performance those first few years. Stefan was a flop since minute one. Probably the biggest example of why the team that picked him are the Winnipeg Jets now.

I'd say Daigle is the worst. I remember when I was very young and people were saying that he was a future superstar. He was supposed to be the Sens savior.

He was given a huge contract. One of the biggest at that time and he totally flopped. I'd say that it set the Sens back at least another 5 years as well although it turned out okay after that.

Waddell was probably one of the worst GMs in the history of the NHL, at the very least the worst of the last decade.

How he kept his job for so long, I'll never know.

What I want to know is how the hell did he get promoted? That was definately a head scratcher.

Doug Wickenheiser deserves to be mentioned. He was taken by Montreal 1st overall ahead of Denis Savard.

Dipietro is obviously right up their.

I mean, it's tough to call a guy who WAS successful in the NHL, but ran into injuries, a flop. Disappointment? Heck yes. Not exactly a flop. Brent Johnson's fist sends his apologies by the way :/

I would feel a bit better about Dipietro his injuries didn't begin from something that happened in an All Star Game Skills competition.

The people calling Yashin a bust have no idea what they're talking about. I don't like the guy anymore than anyone else, but the guy could play.

Gillies, Haley & Martin say HI.
