How about a zero team playoff and we just play the entire season and post season before we vote on a champ ?

When your sport is the only sport where a champion is determined by human voters/committee it's irresponsible to vote before you've got all the information.

You must be young. Once you hit like 31, the only thing you need to worry about is cardio, arm curls, and the tables and chairs beside the entrance to the locker rooms. Boom, laid.

Can we brainstorm some more out-of-the-box formats? I recently followed the world chess championship (Carlsen vs. Caruana, I'm sure everyone knew that). There were twelve draws so they went to faster time controls, Carlsen won.

So maybe 16 teams, 4 venues. 1 day of double elimination 1-quarter "games", winners advance to the semi's.
