Very nice. Another good creature NOM movie. Cast is pretty big, hopefully there's quite a few people to mow through. I wasn't really a fan of cocaine bear, but we're due for a good bear attack movie. The Edge was kind of the best one to date with good ol' Bart. The old school Grizzly movie was decent at the time. It'd be nice to get a new one though.

Sinners is now the most Oscar nominated movie ever with 16.

lol whatever. Does anyone still watch the lame DEI Oscars?

I find it funny they refer to it as a 'ghost story' when it's clearly a vampire film and rip off of Dusk Till Dawn. The dork that wrote that article prob. didn't even watch it lol.

Anyone seen Iron Lung? It's a Markiplier movie (famous streamer/YouTuber) on the horror indie game (called Iron Lung).

It's really getting great reviews.

I dug Primate a lot, though I missed the opening kill scene :(.

I would have scene it a second time but my neighborhood got snowed in and now it's gone from my local cinema.

lol that sucks. Well I'm sure it'll be on streaming soon enough. It was a decent film. Everyone said, "It's Cujo with a monkey!" Well so what. Better than another stupid ass ghost PG-13 movie that's plagued the last 20 years... or for some reason some are rated R for I have zero f'ing clue why. I guess a couple F bombs and too many loud/bang jump scares qualify as just too much for the kiddies. Half don't even show a boob for F's sake... but meanwhile Cameron got away with PG-13 while showing ass + boob in Titanic and killed over 1K people.... I guess Kate Winslet gets naked in like 90% of her movies so maybe the MPAA didn't care and just assumed everyone has seen her naked.

........ k sorry went on a side rant there. Anyway man, yah it was a good movie. I'm excited to check out this Iron Lung movie too that Markiplier made lol.

Oooo I forgot to post that I went & saw that in the theater... Sorry @Sharkonabicycle , but you were with me in spirit.

Primate was pretty fun... But I admit I had a very difficult time not laughing the entire time... The scene where they are hiding in the closet and inevitably made a noise which caused the chimp to slow-turn his head... I was dying laughing at that.

Started rooting for the chimp about midway through. My girlfriend made the comment that they could have named this movie "Furious George" and it probably would have been better sold as a horror comedy.

I enjoyed it though... Wouldn't mind seeing a Primate 2 if they made another where the rabies spread throughout the entire island. Even more chaos!

Going to see Send Help (2026) in the theater tonight. Looks like a pretty good survival & psychological thriller.

Haha. You had the same reaction I did with Weapons although I was laughing pretty hard and often (thank God I wasn't in a theater). That movie was PEAK dark comedy.

Regarding Primate, I don't think I laughed, but there was a few cheese moments and of course the "Why would you?" kind of stuff lol.

I did grin at the Assassin's Creed cliff grab+throw. I mean we all saw it coming a mile away and I couldn't help but say aloud, "Gotcha bitch!" when psycho Caesar grabbed the dork.

Eh it was campy popcorn horror fun. I did appreciate the gore and slaughter although I wish the main chick got nailed because she is all like, "F YOU" after the SMART girl suggests getting a gun and shooting him since rabies is INUCREABLE past a certain point. It's the humane thing to do. I mean nevermind rabies does not turn animals into calculated cold blooded killers (especially because some music went off) on a mission to assassinate every human in the area lol, but it's entertaining so whatever.

Send Help (2026)

This movie was pretty clever. About midway through the movie you're pretty much disarmed from what you expected to watch after seeing the trailer. What I thought would be a psychological thriller turned out to be more of a Rom-Com for at least 45mins... But it eventually devolves into the madness. If you're going to give this one a go, I highly suggest being patient with it. I was borderline falling asleep before things finally picked up.

The acting was fantastic. Each character is a little over the top in terms of stereotypical behaviors, but at least we don't have to drag out much character building because of it. Instead we get more investment into the character arcs, which ends up misleading you. I thought that element was pretty clever. There is some pretty good gore in this, surprisingly, and a truly hilarious vomit scene.

The main knock on this movie from everyone is obviously going to be the first half of the movie where it drags & tries to mislead you. But if you can stick it out its worth the wait. Would have been better if they had explored more of the madness throughout the film, instead of spoonfeeding tiny hints.

Slow burn until the 2nd half... 7/10

Thanks for the reference. That looks pretty good. I do really like Rachel McAdams. She's got great range, that girl can act.

Just found out my ex GF's (from 30 years ago) dad died last April.

Mel Novak.....he was a great person, not just an actor.

Just watched Night Shift (2023)... It tried to be a spook type move, but shifts to a slasher. Kind of a gender confused film, but I think it was meant to be more of a misdirect to give us a better plot twist. But it just didn't land very well. Very low-budget film. Biggest gripe was that it felt like it tried way too hard to mislead you. Like the main character being overly-inquisitive of the supernatural stuff happening and completely forgetting any semblance of survival instinct. Made it feel very tacky.

Went to the theater to watch Ready Or Not: Here I Come (2026) ...

Overall I liked it. Basically a rinse & repeat type of movie. So if you liked the first, then I'd recommend the 2nd. Obviously they upped the stakes for the sequel. There was the occasional cheesy moment but it was the same fun & games.

Watched You Can't Run Forever (2024)... Simple stalker/survival thriller that was pretty much carried by Simmons. It was a very flawed film that really lacks style & execution. JK Simmons was a pretty cool choice to cast as the antagonist in this, and he really pulled all the weight and ended up being the saving grace for this film. That said, its a low-budget film so don't expect much.
