I know most of you have been at least somewhat been paying attention, but it's past time we had a thread for Hop's kids.

It's half time at home against UCLA with UW in the lead after starting off really poorly. The blocks/steals/turnovers in this game are off the hook.

If you aren't watching, you should be. Chance to reach their 11th straight win and give them more distance in their rearview mirror.

Right now several rankings have UW around a 7th seed slot and really only Arizona State is also in if it ended today.

Need to keep that pressure up and and land that 9th conf win and keep the winless conf streak alive.

18-4 (9-0)

And the best defense I've seen on this team in decades. That was a clinic. Flat out defensive domination.

UW hasn't started off 9-0 in conference play since 1952-1953 and this is the best overall record through 22 games that the Huskies have had since 2004-2005.

Not a big basketball fan but I've been trying to get into it and have watched most of the games this year.

Loved Romar, but hated his teams because they never played defense. Really love what Hop is doing and mostly with Romar's kids.

Missed the game today but looked like UW controlled the game. Great win and should be ranked next week, we'll hopefully.

I really, really, really hope he will be with us for a long time.

Can't remember the last time UW had such good coaching with the men's basketball and football team. Marv Harshman and Don James maybe? Still a bit before my time though.

Next two games are going to be difficult on the road against Arizona State and Arizona. Losing Noah Dickerson will hurt. Apparently it's just a sprain, but I don't know how long he'd be out for.

Damn, I didn't know he got hurt. That's a big lose. The Zona schools have always been a thorn. I'd be happy with a split.

That looked like a bad rolled ankle. He landed kind weird off a rebound and his foot rolled entirely to his side on the landing. Some of those are bad, and some not so much.

‘Do you know who this guy is?’: Defensive ace Matisse Thybulle is stealing much of the attention for Huskies

Do you know who this guy is?’: Defensive ace Matisse Thybulle is stealing much of the attention for Huskies

Matisse Thybulle, the Pac-12's chief thief, will continue to pester any foe who shares the floor with him — altering shots, altering drives and, more than anything, altering results.

Who said it takes years to rebuild a program? :noidea:

Given the dearth of incredible talent that had been committed to the Huskies, I wasn't a fan of immediately replacing Romar when we did. Very happy to say I was wrong on that one. Too bad he didn't have more success, by all accounts he was an incredibly nice person.

Thiel: Huskies’ Dickerson hurt, Timmins steps in | Sportspress Northwest
What Art failed to mention was that Timmins had just suffered a flop against him on the other end of the court just the play before. Sure, he was given what was pretty much a weak flop, but it looked to me like a makeup call as the refs realized they got suckered on the other end.

Beating both zona schools on their courts is a tall order with all hands on deck, but doing it while missing Dickerson is beyond daunting. Just split those and keep the momentum going. Really need to get that first one on Thursday.

I love the fact that not only does he have Washington and Cali to recruit from but he also has NY pipeline as well. He's rebuilt this program beyond expectations in 2 short years.

The Pac isn't getting any respect. I was disappointed UW didn't get ranked this week.

Conf is hot garbage right now so I get it. They also really need a high profile road win. Kind of have to beat ASU on the road next Saturday if you want a chance at it. And with Dickerson's ankle I'm not so sure they are in a good position to go take that.

The team has learned how to win and how to overcome, but now playing high profile road games as a front runner is kind of new. Just keep taking those steps.

Baby steps indeed but I figured they land at 25. I know the Pac is a mess but 11 in a row and 9-0 conf play with a 18-4 record I figured would get it done. I saw a blurb on my phone at work the AZ Hoops is being investigated?

Timmons flopped on that one and every one knew it.....still got the call but I hate to see it. Both him a Hamier get called for some bullshit soft stuff but it kind of makes up for Noah's soft shit on the offensive end, he gets more calls than anyone I have seen. I don't care too much for Bill Walton but I like how he always calls out the big guys for flopping. When 7 footers act like they got hit by a train when a 6' 180 pound guard hits them in the lane is downright embarrassing. Half the time Timmons gets fouls called on him for just being awkward.

Solid W tonight, team looked real good. Nice to see them snap that 7 game losing streak and push their conf lead to 4 games with ASU on the horizon.
