Firstly.....let me be up front that i have opined my view that a 60 game "season" is/will be a "gimmick' season that will be a farce at the end.
However....i will be honest and say.......i WILL watch it.....for the curious spectacle of watching contenders get off to a slow start and also runs come out the gate on a 25 game hot streak.....and when the dust settles ...who knows who survives the race.
The two things i think will dictate this "season" will be how teams come out the gate in the first 25 games...and injuries.....one or two key players injuries and that team is done. Luck will be a big factor in this thing.
Iwould like to know everyone's honest viewpoints on this 60 game season.

I think they should just embrace the fact it's a gap season. Why not implement more of the proposed changes? I heard they are going to go with the DH (as mentioned) and having a runner start at 2nd during extras. Experiment some, what do they have to lose?

Every season there's a non-contender who gets off to a blazing start (Last year it was the Mariners), before falling back and behind the pack as the games progress.

This year, that hot start might just be good enough.

injuries are going to suck... there will be a lot of players that get hurt, and just refuse to come back to play this season...

1 - pointless. its 37% of the schedule, least of any pro sport, ever
2 - by game 60 everyones rounding into form, especially the batters. hitting will be ugly.
3 - injuries. they will happen, many will be faked. "owwwww, my hammy. id rather sit on the IL and get paid than play 60 games for a fraction of my annual pay and chance being hurt."
4 - corona - what happens if your starting infield tests positive? is there a waiver still?

1- injuries will be a huge factor. If you get a key player injured early your screwed since it’s such a short season.
2- hot starts- if a team gets off to a hot start they will be golden. Usually with 162 games teams have ups and downs throughout the year. But this year with it being so short if you come out hot your good.

I found myself watching “Man versus Food” yesterday...multiple episodes. Regardless of the level of travesty this meaningless season presents, I believe I’ve proven that I’m bored enough to watch anything.

1. Ronald Acuña still going to have a 40/40 season.
2. Braves gonna win it all.

In my honest opinion, of course.

It IS better than nothing, but I'm still butt hurt about having both sides have a DH
I don't like the DH, mostly because it just means that teams carry more relievers and the games last longer because of pitching changes ad nauseum.

But really, half the pitchers stop hitting in high school. Even my scrub college team had very few guys that could pitch and hit. Sure, we'll miss things like Joe Blanton's WS dinger, but whatever.

They atleast have the 3 batter minimum rule now. And Kapler isn't coaching the Phillies anymore. So that's atleast 5 less pitching changes per game.

I'm still mad that Hoby Milner didn't pitch in 162 games in Kap's first season.

With a 60 game schedule, the Giants have a shot at Kapler pitching one guy in every game.
