Are you kidding? Of course the touring hockey school known as the San Jose Sharks have been on the road, so that accounts for 2 of the losses, but is this just a statistical anomaly or is there a reason for it? A lot of these home losses aren't even close either.
It could just be random, but is it actually a disadvantage to play on home ice? Some reasons I can think of:
1) Home teams try to hard to please their fans, where road teams just play a simple efficient hockey game
2) A slight majority of the home teams over that 17 game stretch were the lower seeds.
3) Home teams have to deal with their media, fans, etc more.
4) NHL fans need to get better at booing
5) ?
