Holy heck!

That's the last time I use a CC to go to a range!

Just checked my statement and for 75 balls Granite Links cost $15!!

How much does your range cost?

I guess it's not as bad as I thought. My BIL in NH pays $12 and he made a good point it is Boston pricing and Granite Links is a very expensive course. But you'd think they'd have nice range balls.

Probably reserved for the members range

Apparently $13 for 100. Looks like the golf course I played growing up (45 minutes outside the city) is $10 for 105

I guess $15 isn't as bad as I originally thought... But still that is very expensive.. Though I believe to actually place the course it's like $115, cart might be extra

It all depends upon the facility. Nice mats and quality balls can make a difference.

My idea for a range is to have different pricing depending upon where you're hitting. 6 bucks to swipe 'em off a rubber tee and 15 to hit off of nicely maintained turf. That would accommodate hackers and players.

The one drag about my beautiful club is that our range is limited to 150yds or less because we don't have the space. I never use it because I feel like on any range session, I need to work up to the driver.

Very good points. The mats were decent at Granite Links But the "tee" was way to high and I couldn't adjust it which sucked.. The balls weren't Titelist or anything but that could just be because it was opening of the season... I do like hitting on grass much much better than the mats however. I didn't see grass there but I wasn't allowed on the "members" range so who knows what they get

I don't think there's a public range anywhere near me that has turf to hit off of.

Could never hit a wood. Bought a couple of driving irons and started hitting one between 250 and 275 yards and hitting it straight . then the legs gave out and the doc sad chasing a ball even in a cart was a no-no. hated sell those Callaways after only getting to use them three times.

The course I went to Saturday had small buckets for $4. No woods, though (short/narrow range)

my local range attached to the course is no woods.

I will go to the range about 15 mins away and hit bombs.

I just wanted to warm up a bit before. Plus, SA hadn't swung a club this year, so she wanted to hit some balls.

I've never understood why people feel the need to lie on the internet.

Course a few blocks away got a new pro who gave my son lessons years ago.

"Dad, this guy can hit range balls over the fence (15 feet high at the end of the range).

"Oh, c'mon..." But it was true.

I ended up watching him at a few long-drive contests.
