Nico Rosberg retires from Formula 1 after winning world championship

I wonder if he told the team he was thinking it and they kind of "helped" him get to the top? Because no one on earth would think Nico won this championship as much as Lewis lost it.

Total shock, but you have to admit in hindsight it makes sense. Nico did not seem happy at all. He was cracking under pressure at various points and didn't seem like he was enjoying the rush of a championship. Becoming a father changed him.

I wish him luck. And let the silly season rumours go nuts. My money is on Wehrlein.



And I bet Nico Hulkenberg is kicking himself for signing already. Him and Lewis would have been a killer team.

It's too bad he didn't accidentally slip the tranny into reverse on the Brazil staring grid so he really could have backed into the WDC....

This guy has got to be the dumbest driver on the planet. He just won the F-1 championship and before the ink was dry, he retires. No wonder Hamilton never liked the guy much. I have a suspicion we will see Rosberg come crawling back in March crying wolf and that he misses driving the Mercs!

At this point, I think the Mercs team will go with an unknown from the feeder series. I look for a new "Verstappen" type from one of those series, a person who is not well-known at the F-1 level.

Makes sense that Rosberg retired

he's a family guy and to him it doesn't get better than winning the championship, I don't think it ever could have ended better for him.

I think Wehrlein is the easy option, he's in the Mercedes program and I mean the guy scored a point in a Manor, clearly he has some talent, it would be fun to see what he could do in that fast of a car.

A screwd move by Mercedes would be to try to grab Carlos Sainz from Toro Rosso, take him from the Red Bull development program as he proved he could go toe to toe with Verstappen, having him would be a strong move by Mercedes. It probably won't happen though

For your competition may I recommend tagging the most common competitors each week if we get to Saturday and they haven't made picks. We had a pickem on the college football board and the person who ran it did that every week. I wanted to take part in it but I kept forgetting
