I didn't think anyone even argued this. Although it is kind of different for baseball players in that once you're replaced you're done for the game. I'm sure there's some players that have gotten pretty roughed up that would have returned if the rules allowed it.

Also, not mentioned: Richard Zednik gets his throat cut and holds it himself while he skates to the bench. I guess he wouldn't get more than an honorable mention since he still missed the rest of the season.

Cant compare the schedules of baseball-non contact and Hockey- contact.

Hockey players simply rule. Stamkos? I mean really? Guy got a broken nose, multiple stiches and missed 5 mins of the game. JD Drew gets a pain in his shoulder and sits for 2 weeks.

Just look at the surgery reports that the team submitted after the playoffs was done. Insane what these guys do.

Is that not one of the reasons we love hockey? Cause even the biggest wussies are still tougher then the toughest baseball player.

Remember Tocchet? Got his jaw broken and sat on the bench while they fitted a cage to his helmet then on his next shift the game winner deflected in off his head. Didn't miss a game. Crazy SOB. How many times have you seen someone waiting impatiently for a faceoff because the trainers are picking up that player's teeth?

we all know who i ws rooting for but i have to say i had a ton of respect for Kariya after that game.Clarkson had his wrist slit againts tampa this year didnt miss a game and scored 2 goals the following game. Hockey > Baseball

I wasnt comparing the two. Besides, I'd rather play in the winter than the heat of the summer. What I was saying is people think baseball players are pussies because its a "non-contact" sport but its not true.

Not to argue...but....Jack Lambert...one of the toughest SOB's to ever play football, was also forced in to retirement because of turf toe...

One of my favorite tough guy NHL stories was Roenick playing with his jaw wired shut.

Coincidentally that must have been the longest he's gone without sticking his foot in his mouth...
