Phoenix vs. Edmonton... THATS IT ON THANKSGIVING!!!?
I guess it would be hard to compete with the NFL on Thanksgiving.

Yeah, who isn't totally fired up to watch Detroit and Dallas play in meaningless games for about the 19th time out of the last 20?!?
That tradition needs to die.
Why, because you don't like the teams or something? The fact is, those 2 games, plus the Jets game later, will get better ratings than any regular season hockey game.
No, three reasons:
(1) Fans of many teams should get to enjoy their team playing on Thanksgiving from time-to-time. It's a great day for football -weather's changing, families together, etc. Plus, since it's two NFC teams, AFC fans rarely get a chance to see their team play on Thanksgiving. This shouldn't be owned by two teams every season, but rotated around the league.
(2) It's an unfair competitive advantage. Dallas and Detroit get a home game on a shortened week every year. Teams having to travel to play them with only a few days between games are at a disadvantage, though clearly this has not been much help for Detroit.
(3) The NFL should be showcasing competitive and meaningful games, which will only happen occasionally if the same two teams are always involved, regardless of which teams they are. They should wait until week 7 or so and decide which games will be on Thanksgiving. Put in some games between top teams and some classic rivalries. Wouldn't it be great to see Chicago-Green Bay on T'giving? Or imagine if tomorrow featured Bucs-Ravens and Eagles-Bears instead of two games with teams with lopsided records.
I just tire of the Dallas and Detroit for the sake of Dallas and Detroit tradition. It's worn. Time for a change. The fans in those two cities will disagree and probably like "their" tradition, but it'd be better for all fans and the game to switch it up.
As someone that is not a football fan, why are those two teams the traditional ones? And yes a football game will outdraw a hockey game, but thats because the majority of America is getting more stupid and hockey is just such a hard sport to understand. We're also getting lazier so of course we should cheer for a bunch of people that play half a game 1 time a week and cry when they dont like the already insane high amount of money they do make.
SLY - did your account get hacked, or are you a Bruins' fan now?
That would actually be a pretty good prank.
... I've always been a Bruins fan alongside the Rangers. I made the decision to just support one team, and I've always enjoyed Bruins hockey more. I like the way they run things, and I find the team more exciting even if they tank. I only supported the Rangers more before because they were closer, and I attended more games live. They were the first team I saw when I got back into hockey... but like I said before, I enjoy Boston more, so I dropped the Blueshirts completely. No prank
You're a hockey fan, I understand that, but calling fans of football stupid or lazy is ridiculous. It's a different sport and just as hard to understand as hockey. I also have no problem with Detroit and Dallas hosting the games. It is their tradition and I don't think the NFL should mess with it.

With Jacobs as the owner, I would think that would be a reason NOT to like the Bruins.
