Its a cheap little paperback but I actually enjoyed Keith Jone's Jonesy: Put Your Head Down and Skate: The Improbable Career of Keith Jones and though it shed a lot of light on a players perspective during the pre-lockout years. Funny book too.

Integrity In Hockey by Gary Bettman

That book should be small enough to fit in any stocking.

I enjoyed Phil Esposito's memoirs. I forget what it was called.
An inside look from a player and GM's perspective. Some pretty good stories.

I pulled Net Worth off the shelf to give it a second read recently and enjoyed the chapter that highlighted a meeting of 3 young turk player agents with Alan Eagleson. The 3 wanted to make radical sweeping changes to the NHLPA. They went in with bravado and bluster and Eagleson ended up charming them into changing their beliefs and dropping any idea of change they may have had

2 of the 3 agents were Pierre Lacroix and Brian Burke (who would go on to be party to opposite ends of a certain neck breaking episode in NHL history)

I have read Espo's book and I enjoyed it (Thunder and Lightning - A No B.S. Hockey Memoir is the title)

Ken Dryden's The Game is also excellent.

"9" and "19" are on my wish list this year.

I was surprised to see 9 in the local Barnes & Noble. They have a very small hockey section. It looked really good. It's $30.

Bobby Hull was on NHL powerplay a week or two ago. He's got a new book out.

A few years ago I picked up Hockey's Golden Era by Mike Leonetti. Some great photos & synopsis of players of the era.

Slap Shots by Kevin Nelson has some funny stories.

Keep them coming everyone & thanks.

"BETWEEN the LINES", By HOF Linesman Ray Scapinello & Rob Simpson. It gives you a look at the NHL from an official's perspective. Ray was in the NHL for 33 years, worked 2,500 regular season games and 426 playoff games, including 20 Stanley Cup final series. He never missed an assigned game.

I have "SLAP SHOTS" and it is funny.

I read some book by a penalty box attendant a few years ago that was really funny. I'll ask the Mrs what it was called.

The book was In the Bin: Reckless & Rude Stories from the Penalty Boxes of the NhL by Lloyd Freeberg. He was both a penalty box attendant and an admittedly awful goal judge. Quick funny stories.
