This time of year is like Christmas for Hobs..... He really saves his best, most flowery shit before things like facts get in the way during the season.

Fluff about Dalton? Hobbs must have to come up with make believe crap. It is impossible that Dalton could actually look good in training camp. *shakes head*

It's possible for any qb to look good when they can't be sacked, the defense isn't allowed to go to the ground, nobody is wearing equipment and there is no pressure of a live game.

He better look good in camp. None of it matters though, when the opponent is bringing the heat. We'll see if he makes plays when that happens, or he folds up like a cheap suit yet again.

Tyler Wilson looks pretty decent on his throws.

oh yea, the Bengals scout the shit out of these QBs...
he'll be released... can't have someone threatening the confidence of Dandy

Andy looked great tonight. First team looked great. A lot like playing the Jets last year in PBS.

The back-ups looked terrible. Cobi Hamilton and Ryan Whalen need to be cut. The back up quarterbacks are hilarious.

The Jets are clowns. It's hard to understand why their ownership continues to support Rex.... It might work temporarily, but they seem to get worse over time.

I am trying to figure out what Whalen did wrong. Hamilton looked like crap, I agree, but what exactly made you not like Whalen? He caught everything thrown to him.

He dropped a pass..... And he let a dude bullrush him to block a punt.

He's not good. It's odd that we've kept him so long.

You mean the guy that had about 70 pounds of muscle on him? Yeah, I say that was Whalen's fault and not Simmons for putting Whalen in a situation he has to block a 250+ pound guy.

The guy is a football player.... He's on the bubble for a roster spot and special teams matter. He looked like a little girl on that play.

Also, does he really have enough of a track record of past performances with this club that makes you want to keep him? Some guys aren't good enough to stay on this team -- That's a good thing. That means that we have a talented roster. It's unclear why you get so defensive about that.

Whalen did ok with Wilson, it was against 2nd and 3rd teamers, but he didn't look bad.

Whalen will end up on the team because Coby Hamilton is really blowing it hard this preseason.

which WR do you give his roster spot to:
James Wright*
Jeremy Johnson
Jasper Collins
Colin Lockett

I would say Wright makes the team, but that's just a guess. and it's due to Jones injury, otherwise he'd be on the practice squad. I doubt Whalen is eligible for the practice squad. I'm not even sure I know who the other 3 guys are.

It's pre-season. All you can really learn is how well Andy looks making his reads and deciding where to go with the ball, but even that can be (should be) taken with a grain of salt. Watered down plays, and guys rotating in and out, even with the 1st teamers. However, he's looked good which is much better than the alternative.

Hamilton has all the talent and zero hands. He's like dude from the replacements...someone get him some stick-um "Coach...it looks like I just jacked off an elephant"....

I think Wright is the guy you keep. I don't think he would stick on the P.S. He's got a lot of talent, and if Whalen hasn't moved of his role of 7th WR by now, let's face it...it doesn't matter who's there.

We'll end up keeping Jeremiah Johnson on our practice squad because his name reminds people of Jeremy Johnson and yes, I do believe the Bengals make decisions based on silly shit like that.

both Whalen and Wright make the team due to Jones injury.

It's a good thing we were unwilling to pony up 2 million dollars for Baby Hawk.

It would really suck to have a guy that could step in and be the third receiver right now and fourth when Marvin gets back, all while being a valuable part of our special teams.

I don't think Whalen is that bad of a football player. If Jones is healthy, I couldn't see Whalen making the team. A fully healthy squad, I go with this..

Green
Jones
Sanu
Sanzenbacher
Hamilton
Wright

Hamilton has looked poor, but I believe when you're that far down in the depth chart, you are basing roster decisions on potential and age.

With Jones hurt, I think Whalen should be the 6th man.

Next year in the draft, I think we should seriously consider another WR with our 1st or 2nd round pick, along with a OL.

sucks for us, but I'm happy for him, he will finally get the roll in the offense that he deserves.

we should be good at RB at least. unless we manage to injure both GB and JH
