The quality of the game would go way down if players couldnt get cut. It would also go down if 2/3 of the league wasnt on hgh but thats probably not a bad thing

Pull your head out of the sand. HGH isn't tested for and it's rampant. And I don't think that asking the players to obey the law when doing their job is too much to ask.

As a Lions fan I watched center Dom Riola go from sucking balls to "putting on 20LBS. of muscle mass" over the off season. Yeah right... you go from POS to All-PRO over night after 12 years?

John Dyer is right everybody does it...just don't make right.

:agree: It is rampant. It's not just rampant at the pro level, but at the collegiate and high school levels as well. I would estimate the number of NFL players that have taken a PED at some time in their life would sit between 80% and 90%. It is what it is

We should all be thankful they are juicing, it gives a far more entertaining product.

I'm sure they could put a good product on the field without it

True. But it would be a step back as far as the entertainment value, which could cause irreparable damage to the league. Much worse than what happened to MLB. Viewers will lose interest going from watching guys play 100 mph to 60 mph.

Not saying that it shouldn't happen, just why it wont.

The funniest thing to me is looking at pictures of guys when they were in the league and then after they have been in the announcers booth a few years. All the linemen do it, but it's not just them. Take a look at Troy Aikman and Daryl Johnston's shoulders and necks now vs when they played. The ''Moose'' has turned into ''The Mouse''

Scott Mitchell beefed up pretty good after retirement.

Players have been on some form of PEDs for many, many years...I really don't care...I watch for the entertainment value...if a guy runs 4.3 or benches 400 on PEDs vs 4.5 and benches 350 w/o them...big deal.

If these guys want to that little extra and are willing to take 15 years off their life...why should I care as a fan?

Exactly. Here's the reason it's never going away. When Barry Bonds, who hit more homer's than anyone in the history of the world gets busted, they can take away the Hall of Fame.....but they didn't take back the $100 million+ he made in his career. Take it to a much lower level. A high school LB is 6'2'', 205 running a 4.8 and looking at paying his way through Junior College. Or that same kid come's in at 6'2'', 230, running a 4.6 and getting a ride to a small D1....Besides the value of the scholly, how much more will the young man earn in his lifetime with a D1 education?

Wish I had seen this before my other post. Would double quoted.

Agree 100%. They do not care because it makes or gives a chance for bigger contracts.

My guess is I won't even be watching the NFL in the next 5-10 years because I can't stand the direction it's heading. But I still watch high school games because I like football. I think the speed would be plenty if they were off HGH. I'd still be watching the best of the best. As long as their is a game left for me to appreciate, I'd like to see my favorite players still walking when they're 50.

The kids in High School are juicing at an alarming rate to get those scholarships. It won't end by testing because new ways are being used to beat those tests.
